I have a two and a half month old who has started to refuse to sleep in the last few days. He's sleeping less than 10 hours day (including the night). He's fussy, cranky, etc. He doesn't have a fever. He's not hungry. His diaper output has been the same as always. His clothes are comfortable and not too tight. The temperature is fine.

Any ideas?

A friend of mine just called me up venting and angry about a Department of Children and Families case worker. I suppose I'll start from the beginning, a couple months ago a couple got angry at my friend's neighbors (these neighbors are her aunt, Clare, and her aunt's boyfriend, Rick) because they drive quads in the yard and don't like it. There is nothing this couple can do because the yards connecting the two homes are both privately owned and that is where Rick rides his quads. One day while I was there this couple started a huge fight with Clare and Rick. No more than a week later my friend had this lady dragging her three year old daughter up to the door and stated that she had been in the road. My friend had been watching from the window, her child never came close to the road but was at the end of the yard picking flowers off a tree. Despite this the woman called DCF, a worker came out spoke to my friend, her parents, her aunt, her cousin, myself, and a couple other friends.

I am 38 weeks pregnant tomorrow, and for the past 3 days I've been waking up from my sleep with a lot of pain in my pubic bone area, and having to urinate badly. Is this normal? Or should I be concerned? This is my first pregnancy so I'm unsure of what I should be feeling at this point. Thanks to anyone for answering :)

My period, which is usually on time, is 4 days late. There is no reason it shouldn't be on time and I am not stressed out. I didn't even begin to suspect pregnancy until the day after my period was due. I decided to take a test this morning. I used E.P.T. The one with either a + or - sign. I know the test worked correctly as the window filled with color like it should have and the control line appeared right away.

This issue is, within the first few seconds the second line appeared making the + but it was very faint. Then a few seconds later the line disappeared. I know for a fact that it was there. I know they say a positive no matter how faint should be considered a positive but what about when it disappears a few seconds later?

I'm confused and unsure how to interpret this test? What do you think??

The toddler in question was born one month premature, prolonged labor and mother losing alot of blood, face presentation. Was walking and talking until age 14 months. Then had 105 temp, upper respiratory infection and a convulsion. Taken to ER, given penicillin and got better. However, the walking and talking stopped for over 18 months. Then these abilities were slowly regained. What do you think caused the delay? Thank You!

Okay. Long story short, my ex-girlfriend and i had a very ugly break-up and i caught her in a lot of her own lies. B/c of this, i have trusting issues with her.
About a month ago, she called and said that shes pregnant and its my child. We argued, blaming each other, etc. And at first I had a hard time believing that shes pregnant, but there truly was a possibility that she was. (and that it may also not be mine...which was the reason why we broke up cause she cheated on me) but i owned up to my responsibility until otherwise. Now, she lives in NC. She called me the other day crying and said that she had a miscarriage two weeks ago. she started again blaming for her miscarriage and said shes been in and out of psychiatric help. then finally she said she doesnt want to hear from me again and hung up. SOO. now my problem is, that i dont trust her that she even had a miscarriage. what i can do to verify in fact she did had a miscarriage?

So I just saw on the news that there have been 28 incidents of babies falling our of their Bumbos from countertops or tables.
One couple is actually suing the company.
I think the Bumbo chairs are great and my DD loves it.
On the back of the Bumbo there is warning to not use on raised surfaces and I know that must be there for a reason!
Of course you shouldn't use it on a raised surface...that is about as dumb as leaving your baby in the tub for 2 seconds or leaving them on the couch. I don't understand how parents can put their baby in such danger and think "they will be OK"
*shakes my head and sighs*

Hi! Even though your baby will be too young to know what's goin' on, are you still gonna take him/her to see santa for the photo op?

(Anyone who saw the questions/answers yesterday about me, disregard that. ALL those different accounts, questions and answers alike, belong to Mommy of One and she wanted ot to seem like I was making them. Yes, she's THAT obsessed with me. My son started being afraid of the dark outside. If the blinds are open and the back porch light is off he will run jump in my lap and tell me that it is going to get him, while he points out the back door. This happens anytime there is a dark area outside anywhere. Two nights ago he woke up screaming and I found him frozen in his doorway, shaking and screaming. That happened @ 5am. Last night the same thing happened at 430. I pick him up and carried him back to my room. He is saying go away the whole way back to my room. He use to come to my room but now he will not walk past his doorway. I've tried to ask him what he sees but I can't understand him. We have carried him around the yard at home and at friends, following where he was pointing, trying to figure out what he sees. I try to comfort him the best I can but I don't like him being scared like this. I believe in spirits and all of that stuff. I want him to be comfortable in his home and his room. What can I do? Please Help Us!

Ok, so here's the deal..he accidentally got some chic pregnant. he wore a condom and didn't even bust (ejaculate). Now she's claiming it's his.
He already told her ahead of time that he wasn't going to be invovled in anything, he didn't want her to go through with the pregnancy, he wanted her to get an abortion, he wasn't going to be in the childs life, etc etc. She said, she didn't need anything from him, money etc etc. That she was going to do the whole pregnancy/baby thing on her own without his help. And she didn't need him for anything.
He wasn't there throughout the pregnancy, nor was he there at the hospital to sign the birth certificate. There was no paternity test done either.
How is it that she was able to get a child support case without a paternity test, with no father on the cert. and let alone with all his information (ss#, DL #, financial information)? Is there anything he can do? What should he do? HELPPPPPPP!!!!

Ok. I got the instruction on how to prepare formula from the similac website, but now I have these questions: My little niece is 4 months old. I am keeping her cause her mom has to get emergency surgery.

*What is a good treatment for diaper rash that is safe to put on a baby girl?

*How many times should I wake the baby up to feed her if she sleeps all night?

*Is it okay to wash to baby in the big bathtub. or should I use the kitchen sink?

*Should I wash her clothing that gets dirty in a special soap? Or can I use my regular detergent? (I use the Wally world lavender detergent)

*Her mom said she has a little cold, and I do notice her nose running but thank goodness she has no fever. Should I go buy one of those suctiony-thingies or can I just wipe her nose as needed?

*And, are their little hands supposed to be cold? She is normal temperature, and the house is warm (80 degrees) but baby's hands are cold. I put her on a footy sleeper, and socks on her hands? OMG?? Help?
