the reason i ask is because the last time i saw my Dr he said my son was small for me being almost 6 month and mind you i,m a small women 4'7 and his dad is 6'4 but i,m tiny so you would think my son is not going to be a big baby i mean normal weight when born but i,m tiny so anyway,he also said it had one artery and vein in the umbilical cord so i said Ok and then he said later i would be put on bed-rest but i don't understand why he would not say when i asked. and he also has done a chromisone abnormalites test and has had it in his office for 2 days and i have try-ed to call him and ask what the results are but he has failed to call me back and i was told to stop calling so i,m not going to call anymore i try-ed to change and no one will except me because he is the only high risk Dr in my area .so my question is what exactaly is a chrmoisone test done for and also why where you put on bed rest thanks for responding and sorry for ranting and by the way i,m know 6 months and 4 days

I work in a dental office and part of my job is to review treatment plans that we have given to patients, that have not yet been completed and to try to contact them to encourage them to get started on their dental work. I am amazed at all the treatment plans that I am coming across that are for children. Some of these kids have 7-8 large cavities and there parents haven't brought them back in to have the work done. I am hoping that the parents simply took the kids somewhere else to do the work, mabye somewhere cheaper. But one child's treatment plan that I came across was for a child who I actually remembered. The mom brought her in and said that the child had been living with her father, who had neglected her teeth. The child was only about 9 and had a huge cavity in an adult molar, and it was abcessed, and had numerous other cavities in her mouth. My dentist felt bad for the child, and offered to do the rootcanal for free. The mother never made an appointment for the child.

My 4-month old is sleeping really well in her crib now. She's able to go down for naps by herself; at night, she usually nurses to sleep and I'm getting up once a night to nurse her. I'm a little concerned b/c I'll be traveling with her when she's 5-6 months, and I wonder how she'll sleep in unfamiliar environments ... especially if she's used to a crib and is then put to sleep in a playpen.

I have heard that it's a good idea to put her in a different environment for 1 nap/day now in order to get her accustomed to new places. I haven't tried it yet b/c she only recently started napping so well. -- Has anybody tried that technique with or without success?? Does anybody have any other tips or experiences with sleep and traveling?

In short, I just don't want her to "un-learn" her good habits when we travel. I'd love some advice from experienced moms!

So now I need a middle name to go with it? Any suggestions? We're Mexican-American if that helps any...thanks in advance.

I've come down with a nasty cold, and am looking for any help in easing congestion. I'm 10 weeks pregnant, so I don't want to take any medications. But my major complaints are a sore, dry throat, tightness in chest, and this hacking cough that is not productive. Any safe, natural ideas for loosing the congestion? I've been standing in a steamy shower, and that helps... but only when I'm in the shower! I do have an appointment with my doctor tomorrow. THANK YOU!

My 3 yr old (almost 4 yr old) son screams whenever things are not going his way. They are ear piercing screams and he does it continuously! He screams in the stores when I won't get him a toy or whatever it is and it bothers the hell out of me and everyone else in the store. I have turned around and left the store immediately a few times when he has done this but it is hard to be consistent when I'm half way through checking out a cart full of groceries at the register. Plus, I have a cart or stroller with a 1 yr old and at the same time I have to literally drag my son by the arm when I want to leave the store.

I just don't know what to do. Is this a common phase at this age, I thought he might be a little too old for this? Should i spank? Should I put pepper in his mouth? Should I ignore? What should I do??!!

I am a student doing my A levels and I don't like it, I don't like studying and going to lessons, but my dad and mom want me to atleast complete the A levels for a better job. Recently I have skived off from school with dad and mom having no knowledge about it, I skived for around 2 weeks and then my tutor called dad and told him about my skiving. Now when he asked me about it, I was scared so I lied that I had gone to the school and there must be some misunderstanding with my tutor about the skiving. Now he is going to visit my tutor and ask her about it, I am scared, please tell me what to do

I know i sound like a horrible parent, but my son has been sleeping in the bed with me since he was born, mostly because Ive been struggling since Ive had him, but now i have my own place and he has his own room and his own bed. Ive tried to put him in his bed when he has already fallen asleep, but he'll just wake up in the middle of the night screaming. what should i do? HELLLPPPP!

I know you can pretty much get pregnant at any time and that when you are ovulating is the best chance, but is getting pregnant the week after your period common?

I am a Nanny of two infants from different families in a Nanny Share. This week I have had to leave my son at home beause he was sick. Both of the babies 4 and 5 months are now sick. The parents have not called the doctors, and they intend to keep me here taking care of them both while sick, and not separating them. Will it not take even longer if they are both sick and still constantly around eachother, wont they pass the cold back and forth to eachother?
I dont want the parents to think I dont want to take care of them while they are sick, but is it fair to do this to all of us? Wouldnt the normal thing to be to have the babies both stay at home until no loner sick? I mean, if it were a day care, they woudnt let you bring the babies there while sick at risk of geting the other children sick. Right? Advice, please. thank so much!

I have very unpredictable periods since I stopped my pills back in May. In June it was 30 days, July/August 60 days, September and so far this month I'm on day 44. Yesterday, I had a little bleeding (very little, not even enough for a pad or tampon, just there when I wiped) and I saw a clot in the stool which looked like a piece of flesh, about the size of a dime. What do you think this was? Implantation bleeding (I didn't have that with my first), a miscarriage, or something else?? I've been trying to track my cycles, but they have been so sporadic, it's hard.
