If there is a faint line in the test window that appears within the time limit for the test (usually 10 minutes for most tests), then the result is positive. Your urine may have been too dilute to get a stronger line, or you are still very early on in the pregnancy. Wait 2 days and test again, hcg level approximately double every 2-3 days. Don't not read any test that has set longer than 10 minutes.
I would recommend First Response tests, or any test that uses pink dye, as this shows up better than the blue ones...at least that is what I experienced.
Good luck to you.

I read through all the answers you have from everyone and yes you very well may be pregnant, how ever in Jan this year I too had a very faint line and everyone said the same its a positive, however a week later I came on. So with caution I would say test again in 3-4 days as each day you are pregnant, the hormone which is in your urine gets stronger if in 3-4 days its still very faint go see your doctor as the test they can offer are better ie blood test. If you are pregnant congrats

HAY well done congatulations its positive with all three of our babys all my test had a faint second line but if the line is there no matter how faint it means your expecting so well done. Remember to make an appointment with your GP and he will confirm and sort everything out for you. Good luck with the pregnancy and the new arrival xxxxxxxxx

If there's a line, faint or not, than you are most likely pregnant!!!! I would of course follow up with a doctors appt to be safe but I would assume that it is a postive result. You could always get one of the tests such as E.P.T (I believe) that actually read the words "PREGNANT" or "NOT PREGNANT" in the results window. Then there's not a chance of misreading a faint line or not. Good luck!

Welcome to the Pudding Club! It sounds to me as if you are indeed pregnant. I'm two weeks over due right now and 3 tests have been negative. The doctor thinks I probably am pregnant and told me its still early days and some people get either a faint blue line or none at all for a while...

A line is a line ! If you read the test at the correct time and not after an hour or so then it should be reliable. I would test in a couple of days making sure you use the morning urine. Good luck :)

No matter how faint the line is as long as the pregnancy kit shows two line, you're on the family way...Negative result on the pregnancy kit always shows a single line... Congratulations, Mommy! (",)

I wondered the SAME thing about 7 and a half months ago. The line was just barely - and I mean barely - noticeable. I remember thinking it was negative when I saw it. Now I think my bowling ball-sized belly proves the answer to your question - I am due on Christmas Eve.
