There is only a 25% chance of conceiving each month and it is around the time that you are ovulating. If you have a regular cycle (28 days) then they say that you would ovulate on day 14 of your cycle. Your cycle starts on the first day of your period (so count 14 days beginning then). but you don't always ovulate on the same day each month. If you are trying to get pregnant, you can buy an ovulation prediction kit at any drugstore. This will help predict when your ovulating. Good luck!!

The first answer you received is wrong!!! and the 3rd answer did not get pregnant during her period! SHe is misinformed!!! Sperm can live inside the woman for up to 5 days and you can ovulate at anytime of the month - just not during your period. So if you ovulate early (a few days after your period) and there is sperm there ready and waiting you can get pregnant.
Conception does not h appen right during intercourse. - it's usually a day or 2 after!
I am going to give you my standard answer.......go get a book called "taking charge of your fertility" by Toni Weschler. It will help you truly understand your body and cycle and erase all the myths that women beleive about their bodies.I believed all the ovulation & conception myths that are floating around here until we tried for a year with no luck. My doctor recommended the book and it worked the very next month! It turned out my timing was wrong and that I don't ovulate in the middle of my cycle like most women.
I'll be 40 in Nov....and I am due to have my 4th in March!

Getting preggies the week after your period is not common, but it is possible. Each of us have our own so called clock.
And as far as jachooz , where did you go to medical school? Obviously YOU are misinformed! There ARE women who have gotten preggies while on thier cycle. Not every female ovulates according to the norm. It may not sound possible, but it is not impossible! You might as well have just called Jello a Liar. And as far as the first persons statement-read with an open mind, she was making the comment that anytime you have unprotected sex, there is a chance of pregnancy in general.
I know I am venting, sorry. I just can't stand it when people come in here and disrespect others comments so blatantly.

Yes! Most women with regular cycles ovulate around day 14 of their cycle, so that would probably be your most fertile time!

Getting pregnant any time you have unprotected sex is very common. You dont cycle like the tide. You have days when you usually ovulate, but its different for each women, and it can be different days some months without you knowing.
Penis in, baby out. Its not rocket science.
