I don't know your circumstances, but under most conditions I would advise that you see a doctor immediately for being raped, if you haven't already. Although, since it was a few weeks ago, there isn't much they can do as far as gathering evidence, you should make sure that you have not contracted any STDs (and also to document that you are indeed claiming to have been raped, even if you do not press charges). If this is impossible for you to do on your own, you will need to speak to someone you trust--a parent, an aunt, a friend's mom, a counselor, whoever--and have him or her help you. If you were raped by a family member or someone close to you, you are putting yourself at risk for further abuse.

As far as the pregnancy:

First of all, you need to figure out if you are actually pregnant. If you can afford it, buy a pregnancy test (or more than one) and see if you are positive. If you cannot afford this, find your local Planned Parenthood or free clinic and ask for a pregnancy test (also, this is a good place to be tested for STDs).

If you are pregnant, you have a few options: you can choose to have an abortion; you can choose to carry the baby to full-term and place it under adoption; or, you can carry the baby to full-term and raise the child yourself. Any choice you make is your own, but it pays to know the consequences of each.

If you choose to have an abortion, it could make your life much easier if you are financially strained or if you are in a position where bringing a baby into the world would be harmful to the child. However, remember that although the child is a product of a violent act like rape, s/he still has the potential to be an incredible joy to you. Also, if you choose to have an abortion, there may be some monetary cost, as well as a potential for some depression afterward. If you choose to have an abortion, you must do it as soon as possible.

If you choose to keep your child, you need to seek pre-natal care--that is, you should see a doctor who will make sure and continue to make sure that you and your baby are developing well, as well as give you prenatal vitamins to help the baby grow. If you choose to give the baby up for adoption, you should contact your local Social or Child Services and they can tell you what your options are. Remember that in many parts of the United States, you can also leave your baby at a police station or hospital to give it up without being persecuted.

I know you're in a difficult situation. My heart and well wishes go out to you and I hope that you make the decision that makes you happiest and safest. Good luck.

I am so sorry. I hope that you reported it to the police and went to the hospital. Did you know who it was? You need to tell someone now so that you don't have to deal with this on your own. Find someone fast. A friend, your mother, a teacher or even a friends mother. You need to go to the doctor and get checked out. You also need to decide what you want to do about the baby if you are pregnant. Don't let anyone pressure you into doing anything that you do not want to do. Do what is best for you. Good luck to you.

This happened to me 14 yrs ago. I decided to keep the baby. I thought I would resent the baby or something due to the circumstances, but when she was born all I felt was overwhelming love for her. I was 16 yrs old at the time. Only you can make a decision like that and you really need to think about all your options. You need to decide if you are strong enough yet and capable of taking care of the baby without any regrets. If you do decide to have the baby, but you are still not sure about how you feel about him/her then there is always adoption. Just remember that you have to think about what is BEST FOR BOTH OF YOU.

It's ridiculous for that guy to even suggest that you would lie about being raped...anyways, are you ready to be a mom? And better yet from someone that raped you? This child will be a reminder of that awful night....of course get yourself checked out and talk to someone who is reasonable and will be able to help you

you should talk to a trusted adult friend... counselor in school.... and a doctor.

You should ask yourself how you feel about it and check out some options available to you. Then do what is most pleasing and beneficial to you.

You should not let youself be forced into making a decision regarding the baby by those around you... whether you keep it or not.... or even abort.

Sometimes a doctor can give you pills to take to cause your body to abort......... if soon enough after the rape.. check it out..........

Did you report the rape? If not then you do need to do so, you need to be checked for any STD's and they will also check for pregnancy.
So first report it to the police and then they will have you evaluated by a doctor, do it now befor any evidence becomes unclear.

I am so sorry. Did you report it to the police? Did you go to the hospital for an exam? You need to do both if you haven't already as well as schedule an appt with a counselor to help you determine what to do and help you handle what happened, also make an appt with an OB-Gyn.

Please don't get an abortion.. DOn't make that child pay for the rapist sick bad choice. two wrongs don't make a right. you'll regret it for the rest of your life. give it up for adoption if you don't want to keep it

First of all get checked for std's, file a police report, and maybe look into abortion. I wouldn't want to keep the child of my rapist. I don't think I could live w/ that.
