My husband loves the name Maximus and I hate it, I dont like those either sorry.

I dont know, immediately I was reminded of the men's magazine called Maxim. I think Maxwell or just plain and simple Max are great names (one of the most intelligent and good-looking guys I know is named Max) and probably safer options than other variations that might remind people of soft core porn.

sounds too much like...well MAXI's. I dont' recommend naming your child after a female sanitary pad.

Of course he likes that name, its manly!
But, like you, I'm not fond of it. Max is cute.
Unless the boy is going to grow up to be a gladiator,
I'd encourage you to work with your bf in finding a better name ;-)
