go ahead and name him first name middle name james

both my grandmothers middle names are sue........so is mine i have 7 cosins with the middle name to

my dad's middle name is james its also a family name much like sue...... other family members have that as there middle name........... and i'm certain that it will be the middle name of at least one of my sons.....even if it is the fathers first or middle name....

it won't be messed up....... people tend to go by first names
i'm sure your stepson will end up going by Chris and if you name your son nicholas it will be Nick and if its Jayden i think it will be Jay

There are a whole lot of other people names James or have James as a middle name too besides the ones in your family. If you like the name, go with it.

My stepdad and brother's first name is James, but we call my little brother by his middle name, Austin. I like the way Jayden James and Nicholas James sounds. I don't think it would be a problem becuz James is your husbands name and your baby's middle name or first name. It's cute that way to me.

I don't see why you couldn't use James as a middle name. My son and husband have the same middle name (James also) and I hope someday I have a grandson with James as a middle name to. To me a family name has a lot of meaning, I only wish my name was one!

You know what...I have cousins (3 girls, and their 1/2 sister) all of which bear the same middle name, Marie! Their brother had a daughter and what is her middle name - Marie! There's nothing like being consistent. I don't think it really matters. If you have another son after this one, name him James too! I like your choice of Nicholas James btw.

people do it everyday. so go for it. some family traditions are that every child will get there father's first name as there middle name boy or girl. but if you do not want to go for it then here are some other options:

semaj which is james spelled backwards.
jacomus which is the latin form of james.
jacob which james is a variant of.

James has 12 variant forms: Diego, Jacob, Jago, Jaime, Jamie, Jamison, Jayme, Jaymes, Jem, Jim, Jimmie and Jimmy.

Talk to your husband and step-son. Ask your step-son if he would mind sharing a middle name with his baby brother. Tell him that you have always wanted that name if you had a boy. Let him feel like he is involved in the naming of the baby.

I do not think there is anything wrong with your child's middle name being James, afterall it is your child.
I do know of a family where all of the boy's middle names is Charlie, so as said I see nothing wrong with it.

Brothers are allowed to share a middle name - they share a last name, don't they?
The name you call them is the one that should sound different.
Or, maybe you could give your baby your husband's middle name?
Or, perhaps it is a girl?!
You aren't really going to name your baby after Britney's son, are you?
When I got pregnant, my husband didn't like any of the names I had 'always' liked; so we wound up naming him after both Grandpas.

Personally, I think that it's very important for sons to be named after their father. My husband's name is Erick and My boys are Erick Edward M****** and Alexander Erick M******. My thought was, how can my first son be named after his father and my second son not be named after someone important too? We considered naming him after my husband's father but in the end, we went with Alexander Erick. Some people think it's really weird that both my boys have their father's name in some way but I am really proud and I don't think that two boys sharing their father's name for middle names is weird at all.
