Pregnancy & Parenting - 12 October 2007

I went to the doctor and I found out that I was expecting on the 9th of October. My doctor had me come back in for another round of blood because she wanted to be positive. Apparently when I came in the first time, my level was at a six and it is supposed to be doubling every 72 hours, and when I went back the second time, it was negative. I started my period last night, and it was red, but this morning, it was brown, very light bleeding. I heard this is normal, so that doesn't worry me. But has anyone ever had this happen to them? Thanks!

Okay, We were sitting and talking and I said "you were not born then", then she asked "was I in your tummy?" I said no and she said were was I?" I did not know what to say. You see, when I was a kid, whenever I asked that question the response was, "in your daddy's pants." I want her to know about what is really going on but I am not sure if she is old enough to even understand or to even hear detalis about it. I was pregnant at a young age and so was my mother so I want to be very cautious with this one.

act. He did ejaculate, and some of the discharge fell on my jeans which i soon washed away.However as a precautionary measure i took a morning-after pill within 72 hrs. After about 2 or 3 days i did bleed which lasted for 3 days, which is also the duration of my menstrual cycle. I am awaiting my cycle this month. What are the chances of pregnancy?

I'm in my 2nd trimester - the dr. said it is due to morning sickness (but i haven't had that in a month and even then i was hungry). I see food on tv and am hungry, but looking in the fridge the thought of food makes me feel sick.

I have a 9 year old son who has not seen or spoke to his real father since he was 4. It's been 5 years since his mother and I have been married and he still shows resentment towards myself and others. He has few friends b/c of it I think. Last week my 4 year old daughter was invited to one of the new neighbors house for a b-day party. While I was in the driveway with most of the other parants and children watching my 2 and 4 year old, I hear one of the parants in the backyard yelling. Come to find out my son apparently stepped on the air flow to the moon bounce so it deflated on top of other children including hers. After that he went in the neighbors home and filled a baloon with soda, and let it shoot out the open end onto their new carpet. I tried to express my concern regarding his actions to my wife b/c it happens a lot, but as usual she took up for him. My wife and her mother coddle him too much b/c they feel sorry fo& get angry with me when I try to express my concern.

Yesterday, I bought a car seat... well, my grandmother says to me, "I really hate to see you buy all of these things ahead of time." I just stared at her. Then she continued, "Like the crib, the car seat..."

Still, I was just confused. I said, "Well, I do have to have the car seat to bring the baby home from the hospital. I am 7 months and I am NOT waiting until the last minute." ....and trust me, her comment was no implication of a baby shower.

I told my mother about it and she said that when she had my sister, my grandmother told her to put her in a basket, instead of a bassinette! My mouth just dropped. I am so thankful my mother broke the cycle of bad motherhood!

I am just looking so forward to her "advice" once I have my son... anyone else with crazy experiences?

My son who's in elementry tossed an open but unchewed stick of gum on the floor of the bus but accidently hit a girl. The girl went and told the bus driver. The bus driver stopped the bus and shouted that he wants to see his mom(me) tomorrow and I should give him a good reason why he shouldn't put it in my son's hair. Also, he told him, on his way out he should pick it up and put it his mouth. I talked to him this morning and he denied everything. He said that he asked him how he would feel if she did that to him which if true(lying) would have been the appropriate response and he also said that my son told him he dropped it which means he's lying and the driver wants to take it to the principal.
My son is very shy and a new kid. I explained to my son if he was lying that it would be a very big thing and there would be severe consquences but he swore to me that he wasn't lying about anything. Please tell me what I shoul do. I don't like trouble.

Seren just won't stop screaming today, she is so grumpy. Has been grumpy for the last few dys but today she is REALLY going for it. Im not feeling too good myself and keep going a little dizzy etc. When I don't feel well then everything seems so much worse and her screaming is going straight through me. Im trying to comfort her and make her feel better but she won't stop. Any ideas? She is 5 months old. Thanks

I have a 10 week old and this morning I felt a lump on the right side near his neck on the back of his head. You can not see it. You can just feel it. When you touch it , it kind of moves around..... Anyone ever seen this and it was serious or wasn't serious??

I am good friends with a woman who has a son the same age as mine--almost two. She seems to be pushing the feminist role on her son which is fine for her but I just don’t understand it.

She has bought her son dolls, feminine dress up clothes, and all of the little princess movies. I feel would be okay had he wanted them but he doesn’t even play with them. She seems to think that the more she pushing the ‘nurturing feminine’ role on to her son the more kind he will be.

Maybe I’m stuck in one set of mind but unless my son asked for a doll or a girly toy I wouldn’t get it for him. I doubt he will because he’s very much into ‘boy’ things. The older they get the further they drift apart because of this difference in play preferences.

If you try to make your son a bit more feminine why do you do it?

What do you think of doing this? Could it cause problems?

i am 24 weeks prego and i am hearing my heartbeat in my ear. it is very loud and just kinda worries me, it never did this before. i am also consideredc anemic right now, don't know if that has anything to do with it...anyone had this happen??? its just very annoying...and i am also hoping that it has nothing to do with high blood pressure....thanks :)

I have 3 little boys... my oldest is 11, and the 2 younger ones are 4. One of the four year olds is in a wheel chair. Last year I dressed them all as pirates. It was the cutest thing. A girl in my daughter's 5th grade class has a shirt that reads on the front "Tell you boyfriend I said..."
then on the back it says "Thanks!"
I felt this was inappropriate for a 5th grader, and I mentioned it to another one of my adult friends. To make a long story short, it got back to the child who wore the shirt that I had commented on it, and she told her mother, who called and told me off! She said there is no hidden meaning in the shirt, it just means "tell you boyfriend I said thanks for looking at me cuz he thinks I'm pretty." I didn't agree. The school didn't agree either, apparently, because the child had to change her shirt or turn it inside out that day at school. What is your opinion of the meaning?

I've been expirencing nausua and some stomach issues. I'm not sure if it's indigestion or what. But it is very uncomfortable and when I lay in my bed I need to turn a certain way to get comfortable. Could this be morning sickness or something else. I am getting over a cold at the moment, but would that make me feel like throwing up? Mature responses only please. Thank You!!!
