I have already talked to my doc he said it was a class c drug, which means it has not really been tested, but he thought it might be ok to take it. i am still afraid to take it, i dont want anything to happen.but i still have a hard time sleeping at night and staying asleep, i was just wondering if anyone has been taking it and had a baby on it, and if there were any side effects, for the baby...

I am 23 weeks pregnant now and I take it. The doctor said it was fine and I could continue taking it throughout my pregnancy. Good Luck with everything!

I definately would stop taking it and call your doctor asap. i'm not trying to alarm you, i don;t remember which type of pill i was prescribed. i had a mc and after a few weeks i still couldn't sleep so the dr gave me a weeks worth of sleeping pills - and she said that if i were to get pregnant again while taking the pills it could cause serious side effects. Google pregnancy and look at the lists of "dos and donts" - you might be surprised
congrats on being pregnant :)

Ask your doctor.

Asking medical questions here is like asking your mechanic for tips on how to bake a cake. You may get a great looking cake, but find a big glob of grease in the middle of it.

No matter what people say about their qualifications, you can't trust what you see here when it's something as important as an unborn child. Think about it - who would you trust more in this situation - someone who's got more than 10 years of advanced schooling, years of experience, and knows your case well (hopefully, at least), or someone with a modem and a few minutes of spare time?

I would call you Dr and ask. They can give you an answer on the phone. I don't know why you would need it. I'm 7 weeks pregnant and I can't keep my eyes open. Forget ambien... LOL Goodluck

The only sleeping pill that is OK for pregnant women is Unisom. Ask your doctor about it.
