i am 35 weeks and am having occasional sharp pains really low down, like in my vagina, they just come suddenly and take my breath away, and then may go away for a few hours. Is this just the little one 'prodding' me down there as he is lower? Or this this my cervix beginning to dilate, or is it something I should be concerned about?

I have this pet peeve, and would like other's opinions on it. I get so annoyed when people say that having a dog is like having a baby. For example, someone on my myspace was telling me how cute my baby was, and then said that they have a new dog, and it's like she has a baby too. What do I say to that? There is NO comparison.
I'm surprised at my reaction, because I am a really easy-going person. I guess it's because my daughter is getting two teeth in at the exact same time, and is extremely grumpy. She is also learning how to walk, so there is this underlining fear of a serious fall. I think it takes a special kind of person to be a (good) mother, so it almost feels like an insult when someone says that having a puppy is the same thing as a child.
I guess I just need a nap..LOL

I was in ikea with my 2 year old daughter earlier today and she started having a tantrum by the till because I wouldn't buy her chocolates. The lady in the queue in front of me turned and said to her friend "What a spoilt brat" I told her to mind her own business and the reason my daughter was crying was because I didn't give into her demands not because she's spoilt. I'm normally not rude and I would never answer someone back (I haven't got the guts) did I do the right thing and defend myself ?

What do you think ?

Hello

We have life and health insurance at my work. Life is free and we automatically receive it. Health is not free and optional to purchase. I did not purchase the health insurance. Not long from now I will be going on maternity leave and I was wondering if this will be covered by my life policy. Or does this fall under the health plan? Also is there a lenght of time you have to be with the company? I've worked here for 13 months now.
Hope someone can help. I didn't want to ask work because they might just say "no you will not be paid for your time off" and escepially if they think I don't know any better.

Lets say you are at 2cm.......(for example, not in relation to real life)

Would it be possible to go down to 1cm or up to 3cm depending on the time of the day or do you stay dilated?

Just wondering

I need to take time off because my wife is about to give birth any day now, but I don't know if there is such a thing as paternity leave. Is it the same as maternity leave? and does my employer have to comply without placing me on his bad list? Is this possible in California? How do I go about it without risking losing my job? I may need 2-3 weeks to assist my wife during the recovery.

Yesterday I had a dip in my temperature. Today I have a .55 degree rise. My OPK isn't even giving a faint line anymore. I haven't had a positive OPK yet, but the day before yesterday was the darkest.

Also, my cervix was high yesterday and somewhat soft, today it was really low, but firm.

Does it look like I ovulated? Any input is appreciated. Also, If you think I did ovulate, what do you think my chances are according to when I had sex?

I just found out that I'm pregnant so ready or not, here he/she comes! I can't help but wonder, however, if I'm too young, will I be a good parent, am I too immature, are we ready for a child, etc....I'm 25 and my husband is 30. We've been married for almost 5 years and have no children. I planned on going to grad school for my masters degree next fall but now that'll have to be put on hold. We're financially stable but we wanted more money in savings and a new home before we planned on starting a family (we live in a 1 bedroom apartment).

For some reason I just feel like this is a big mistake. I'm so worried. We're adults but I still feel like we aren't fully "grown up", we still act goofy sometimes and I feel like other parents are more mature than we are. Am I just overreacting? Is it normal to feel this way? When will I feel "ready"?

Advice??

I am a regular babysitter and agreed two weeks in advance to babysitt a large group of children for tomorrow.

In the past couple days my whole immediate family has come down with some virus(high fever, nausea, vomitting). It is obviously very contagious but I feel fine on the medication.

They have no one else to watch the kids and I feel so bad that this is so short notice.

Should I cancel because of the risk of getting them sick? How would I tell them?

Wouldn't it be irresponsible to go because I'm feeling fine now?

My husband and I are expecting and thinking of names right now. He really want to name a boy Machiavelli, and his dad wants us to name him Xavier Franceatone. I like Xavier, but would rather middle name be Nikolai. For a girl we like Isadora Marie.

I had an ultrasound with my 3rd pregnancy and they found an ovarian cyst and said they would want to do another ultrasound to see if it had decreased in size later, it got bigger. After the baby was born I had another ultrasound and they found that it had shrunk but another one had formed. They told me not to worry about it, but this is a horrible hospital (nearest one that my insurance covers otherwise a 1 1/2 drive to next one).

My baby is now 15 months and I have been having pains in my side and a tightness in my lower stomach.

Has anyone had ovarian cysts and is there anything you can do? Is there something to look for? I am 25 and have 3 kids and have never had any other reproductive problems (1 miscarriage). I got pregnant 3 times through birth control.

Help please!!
