The expected due date goes off the first day of your last period. I'm sure you know that. The ultrasound goes off pretty much when you conceived. The doctors just have to guess when you conceived and the ultrasound can tell by how developed the fetus is. Good Luck!!!

Usually your menstrual cycle is more on the spot than the ultrasound. Ultrasounds can be wrong. If you are absolutely positively sure on your last period, then I would go by that. My last child, the ultrasound was like 3 weeks ahead of my period, so of course my doctor asked me many times was I sure that I had it right. I did and she said it was best to go by your body, because ultrasounds really aren't perfect...they measure the developement and size of the baby to guess a "estimated" due date. Even your body can't give you an exact day to expect your baby. It is more likely that the baby will be along sometime between the two dates!

The date the ultrasound says is sometimes different then the due date calculated by the last period. The doctor will go by the date calculated by your last period, unless the date calculated by the ultrasound is more than 2 weeks off. Sometimes the ultrasound can reveal that people are further along then they thought. Especially in cases where women are taking birth control that cause missed periods. I knew a women who was 4 months along and didnt know it!!
Sincerely,
new mom

The way that an ultra sound measures how far along you are is by the babies measurements. My ultra sound gave me different weeks everytime i had one done, it all depends on how the baby is measured during the ultra sound. When i was pregnant with my first child he ended up being born premature, but even after he was born they could't figure out how old he was, the due dates i was given were from the first of June to the end of August.

If your average cycle last 28 days, your date of conception would have been on July 20, and you would be due on April 11...Which would make you exacley 14 weeks. Hope this helps

Go with the u/s ..its more accurate as tey measure the length of the baby to determine its gestational age. I was told that I am 6 weeks pregnant but the u/s tech said that I was 7week 1 day...so thats great 1 week less to count down :)
Good luck

Go with what the ultrasound says... The ultrasounds are so good they can measure every limb and tell you how fall along that limb is... they are so amazing I would go with the ultrasound

go with what the dr. says. when we had our ultrasound it said that the baby was like two weeks ahead and when I asked the dr. she said they don't rely on what the ultrasound says, they go by the 1st day of your last period.

it's best to go with the ultrasound, they are quite accurate to how far along you may be.
