I have started having contractions like 5 or 6 times a day that feel like real contractions. They start in my back and end in the front...My mid back section is also really sore (maybe the baby is moving or something) I know I am not in labor or anything, I am just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this!! I guess I am just complaining lol!

I have a 12 year old daughter. When I do her laundry, I notice that her underwear is always soiled with urine. I have talked to her NUMEROUS times about keeping herself clean "down there," and making sure she knows where to wipe, but she doesn't seem to understand the concept. I don't think she understands where it comes out. (I'm not sure how this could be). She has not started puberty yet, but I am concerned about when it does happen. She does not have any mental problems. Is it normal for a kid her age to be this way? Does she just not care, or is it spite?

So..I'm only 17 years old...and there's a SLIM chance that I COULD be pregnant. i'm a week and a half late for my period, but that really doesn't mean anything. If I don't start here within the next week, then I'm going to talk with my sister and have her buy me a pregnancy test..
Never in my life would I have thought that I would even consider getting an abortion...But I've been thinking really hard these last couple of days, and I know that I'm really not ready to be a teenage mother...I want to be able to finish high school, maybe even go to college...I still want to be able to go out and maybe even party with my friends, have a good time..If I were to keep this baby, I wouldn't have very much to support it. Just me, and my family, And MAYBE the babys dad (Who doesn't have a very steady job, blows all his money on either drugs or alcohol, and I'm not very sure if I'm going to want to spend the rest of my life with him in it) I think I sound selfish, because all the reasons are.....

I'm not sure if what I just felt was a contraction. (I am 36 weeks) My whole stomach was real tight from right under my breastbone all the way down to under my belly button. I couldn't even poke it. It felt like the baby moving but my stomach didnt shift the way it does when the baby has moved before. Looking for any positive feedback others can give :-)

MY 31/2 month old baby girl seems to have lost her sleep during the daytime, she is either awake babling, crying or just turns to her tummies and yells. It stresses me out so much since i can't do any work nor can i get some rest.it's been like this since she turned to her tummies,i don't know whats happening inside her during these so called developmental milestones..since she doesn't sleep she is very cranky by the evening and very often screams her lungs out...i would just leave her go away to the other room...it's unbearable, i get headaches b'cause of this. Any suggestions?....

I recently had a son (3 wks ago), and have realized there is an apparent tension between working and stay at home moms. I never considered being a stay at home mom (solely my decision, influenced by no one else). My parents were quite nervous that I was going to quit working when I had my first child. I know they would be very disappointed in me if I abandoned my career. Has anyone experienced this?

Hi I'm Jonty(Jonathan) Rhodes(not the cricket player). My wife and I are expecting our first in a couple weeks. I'm South African and my wife is Australian so we decided not to have an Afrikaans name for the baby. We are christians. We live in South Africa. It’s a baby boy and we've shortened our list of names. They are:
Brendon Dave
Trenton (Jack)
Abraham Benjamin (Call him AB)
Joel Finn (after a really close friend and his baby who passed away in the Tsunami)
Bryan (Xavier or Shaun)(Bryan is after my wife’s brother who died in an accident 2y ago)

Last name is Rhodes.

We are not sure about naming him after the people who passed away like her brother and our really close friend. This is because in a way its honouring but I'm scared that my wife might burst out crying if she hears her brother's name or Joel and Finn's name thinking about them. It's not happened yet but it could happen in the near future after we have called him that and that would be really hard on her.

I really want to have a natural birth, but I'm in a bit of a difficult situation. I was getting my insurance through my mother because my job does not provide insurance. She just got laid off last week, and her severance package lasts up until the 13th of November. I am due the 15th of November. I am going to try all those natural methods of induction before the 13th, of course; nipple stimulation, red raspberry leaf tea, evening primrose oil, etc., but theres still a good chance I won't go into labor by the 13th. If I need to induce with pitocin, is it true it hurts more than going into labor naturally?
I would prefer not to strip membranes if it can be avoided, so I can labor in the jacuzzi tubs my hospital offers in every room. And I know epidural is available, but I really want to go natural without pain meds. I think that is the birth experience that will make me happiest. I have nothing against those who chose pain relief, but I just don't think its for me. Thanks!

Studies show that most parents like to keep a much closer eye on their children than they did 10, 20 and 30 years ago.
Is the world really a more dangerous place for children, or is it just perceptions that have changed?

We love calling out children by nicknames. This one would be called Matt. Thoughts?

this sounds really stupid because i know labor hurts, but i'm really scared of the doctors doing things to me that they have to and it hurting. (ie: stripping cervix/membranes, an internal monitor, etc). i'm not really scared of labor pains/contractions... i'm scared of having to endure pain from what doctors will do.

what can i do to relax? i keep thinking about having to get induced and worrying about how i've read that is more painful than natural labor and maybe i could elect to have a c-sec instead of being induced... but i might not have my facts straight about which is "better". is a c-sec less stressful for the baby? it is done fairly quickly vs. induced labor can be hours and hours long.

ok so yesterday i asked a question about a shooting pain in my breast while feeding and a few people said it sounded like thrush. I had thrush 4 times with my daughter and this feels different to me. My nipples are itchy, but are pretty much the same color as they always are, it does not hurt at all to nurse my son, and i checked his mouth quite a few times and found no signs or symptoms of thrush at all. is there something else that can cause itchy nipples? It actually seems to soothe them when i feed him and i remember when i fed my daughter it didnt feel good at all it hurt. I am still getting a shooting pain every once in a while in my right breast but its not anything that hurts horribly and it isnt happening with every feeding. I have looked on google and came up answerless if this is thrush i want to get it treated as soon as possible to prevent my son from getting it seeing as he doesnt have any symptoms of it for now. any answer you can give me would be greatly appreciated

I need a list of ideas on how to prevent abortion.. it doesn't have to be primarily towards teenage abortions.

We find out what gender our baby is at our next ultrasound and we've picked names for both. The names chosen are gaelic as the proud soon-to-be Daddy is pure Scottish. For the boy, we've chosen Draven (Dray-vin). The middle names are Jonathan (after my uncle) and Robert (after his father). I like Draven Jonathan Robert because D.J would be the nickname, and my fiance thinks Draven Robert Jonathan sounds better, more fluent. Whats your opinion? (For a girl, we've chosen Davina Skye Danielle (his family is from the Isles of Skye and Danielle after my little sister) ....

I'm 5 feet 9 inches and I weigh 120 lbs. In one occasion, I skipped breakfast for two days and I lost ten pounds.
Dang! But, anyway, I think my body mass index is 17.7. I actually eat alot of food. And even though I grow taller, my weight won't increase.
