I'm 5 feet 9 inches and I weigh 120 lbs. In one occasion, I skipped breakfast for two days and I lost ten pounds.
Dang! But, anyway, I think my body mass index is 17.7. I actually eat alot of food. And even though I grow taller, my weight won't increase.

Yeah, you are on the skinny side.

If you eat a lot like you say you do, you should go to the doctor and tell him that. You could have thyroid or insulin problems. Find out before you get really sick.

No you are a good weight. For bmi, you are supposed to be 15-24 I believe. It just sounds like you have a super fast metabolism. If you are young, then it will slow down. But don't skip those meals!

it's alright, for some people they don't gain a pound no matter what they eat. though it can usually catch up my middle age.

120lbs for someone 5'9" is pretty skinny, and for a guy too. I know girls who are 5'9", 125lbs and they look bone skinny. At least around 130-160 is considered normal by the BMI. But the BMI itself is broad and vague, at best. what about people who are genetically thin and lean? what about people who are big boned or small boned?

it's considered underweight by the BMI(both guys and girls) but it's not necessarily a marker for unhealthiness. some people are just naturally thin or big.

This is a question to ask your doctor. Only he or she will be able to tell you what is the appropriate weight for your bady type. However, until your next visit you can try a few quick sites online such as http://www.kidshealth.org/kid/exercise/weight/bmi.html which should give you a general idea.

Since you are in the 17.7 percentile you are very close to being under weight. I am sure you don't look to skinny, but you may want to start eating a little more.
