ok so yesterday i asked a question about a shooting pain in my breast while feeding and a few people said it sounded like thrush. I had thrush 4 times with my daughter and this feels different to me. My nipples are itchy, but are pretty much the same color as they always are, it does not hurt at all to nurse my son, and i checked his mouth quite a few times and found no signs or symptoms of thrush at all. is there something else that can cause itchy nipples? It actually seems to soothe them when i feed him and i remember when i fed my daughter it didnt feel good at all it hurt. I am still getting a shooting pain every once in a while in my right breast but its not anything that hurts horribly and it isnt happening with every feeding. I have looked on google and came up answerless if this is thrush i want to get it treated as soon as possible to prevent my son from getting it seeing as he doesnt have any symptoms of it for now. any answer you can give me would be greatly appreciated

Yes it could be matitis.
Or your baby may have been slightly rough with your nipple and bit down on it causing a lacaration. That happened to me and it was so painful.
My nipples sometimes get itchy if I put them away when they're damp or leave my nursing pad in for too long. The moisture really irritates them.
Make sure they are clean and air dry them after feedings.

Are there any hard or tender lumps in the affected breast? That could signal a blocked duct or the start of mastitis. Keep an eye on your temperature either way, drink plenty of water, and try using warming pads before nursing.

If you have fever symptoms too it could be mastitis, or even a slight case.
