1] as I pulled my son Robert [ age 2 ] out of his car seat, he started gagging. I tried to get his top half out the door to aim at the ground, but it must have scared him, so he leaned back in, and puked all over me! Then he said "Mommy, you're a mess. You need to change your clothes!"
2] my second son William was ten, and hadn't vomited for at least five years. Apparently, he panicked, and tried to get to me; puking all over the upstairs hall, the stairs, the entry, the kitchen, the family room [ he was preceded by two cats, absolutely terrified by this noise and 'stuff' coming out of him ] - where I saw him coming and said "For God's sake, hold still!"
I grabbed an afghan and held it in front of him, then threw it into the wash. I took him upstairs to get cleaned up. My husband cleaned the walls, carpet, stairs, etc., while Will just moaned.
I called my older boy " Rob, can you get me..."
"I'm busy!"
"Doing what?"
"I'm giving Alpha [ cat ] a bath!"
"What for?!"
"William puked all over him!!"
Alpha wouldn't go near Will for three months.

Well, luckily when my baby got the flu just last week (it's an early flu season this year here -- the hospital said they're just inundated and flu shots haven't even come out yet), he did not get the vomiting my dad had, just diarhea and a high temp. But if you want a story, when I was a kid, we all got the flu and it just came on so suddenly on year. We went out to eat Chinese and before the food even arrived, I started feeling nauseated. My dad asked me what was wrong, and I told him I didn't feel well. The soup had just arrived and he told me to try his hot and sour soup even though I didn't want to. I took a sip to humor him, and immediately threw up on his shoe. I went running to the bathroom and threw up some more in the toilet. On my way out, my mom came running to the bathroom with my sister in her arms throwing up the entire way. Afterwards, I felt much better and very hungry and ate the rest of the meal without a problem. Both my brothers and my older sister also came down with it later that day. My dad announced to the rest of the customers that it wasn't the food since they were all staring at us by then. It was funny in hindsight.

I have 2 boys (5 & 18 months) so i've seen alot of vomit..lol
My youngest son was lactose intolerant when he was younger so until I found out he always vomited after every bottle (even though it was breast milk)....well, one day I had just taken a shower and instead of waking him I put his bassinett in the bathroom in case he woke ( I took a bath).
I had just turned off the water and he began to whine..I waited a few minutes then it stopped, so I thought everything was fine..I laid back into the water..then he started to cry so I stood up and picked him up to put him on my shoulder...he puked in my bah water...it smelled so bad....AND I couldn't get the smell out for almost a week!!!
Nasty!!

Once when my daughter was around 8 months I was laying on the floor and holding her up in the air and she actually spit up and it went in my mouth YUCK
On the other hand my kids are 6 and 8 now and I have cleaned up a lot of puke, no one likes it you just do it and go on, half the time its when they have the flu and you have a short time to get it cleaned up before they are puking again, and when you child starts getting over it is when your other kid gets it.
Of all the puke I have cleaned my cats is the worst. LOL

Both of my boys (three year old twins) had a habit for a while of sticking their fingers down their throats and making themselves throw up. It was nasty. They did it in the car, in their cribs and just for fun when they were bored. We started ignoring it and they finally stopped....it was awful though.
I also can't stand vomit....I've gotten more used to it. When your kid needs you, you find that you will do almost anything for them.

when it is your child, it is totally different. When my son was very little (about 2 weeks) I woke up one morning and fed him, then while he was napping took a shower. and fed him when he woke up again, then burped him when he was done. Later on in the day i smelled sour milk, so I changed his shirt, then my shirt and still could smell it. It turned out that it was in my hair and I'd been walking around all day smelling it. I just washed my hair and moved on...
