I choose not to allow my kids to watch it. It is none of my business what other parents allow, but in our house Spongebob is a no-no. I find it to not be a good influence, as it throws around insults way too much. Idiot seems to be the word used the most, and I just do not want my children to pick up on that.

I read through the all the anwsers and I disagree with some of them. Spongebob is not gay. He just has friends that are guys like guys do in real life. Yes they do uuse the words idiot moron etc. but what show now a days doesnt. Its a fun show for kids. There are some jokes that make adults groan. But overall its great. Good Luck!! ;-)

Lol...I have three kids ages 11, 7, and 3. They all LOVE spongebob. I have therfore had to watch countless episodes and even sit through the movie. I have to admit, I really do like it. It teaches good morals in the aspect that spongebob is always trying to do good. I think it was meant more for entertainment value, but I doubt any kids will take anything negative from it. He's a good guy...love the Gooby Goober! :)

I personally find it to be one of the dumbest shows on TV and cannot stand it. I mean c'mon...a sponge living under an ocean... in a pineapple? Were we drunk when we thought of that? My husband and I actually met the creator of Sponge Bob about 4yrs ago (he's an artist and owns a gallery in CA).
Sponge Bob's voice annoys me and so does the whole concept of the show. My kids aren't that in to him :) so I very rarely hear/see it.
I have heard of many adults who find the show funny or like it. That's fine, just doesn't fit my style. Sorry
Best Wishes =]

surely, I did examine in this a protracted time in the past because of the fact my infant cousin watches the instruct. as quickly as I initially checked it, he replaced into listed as like, 35 or 40; someplace between there...yet on the episode entitled "No unfastened Rides" (March 7, 2001) his drivers license lists his birthday as July 14, 1986, which might make him twenty..properly, a minimum of till Friday, lol. desire that helped.

I myself enjoy watching Sponge Bob but it's meant for older children and it uses cruel humor as well. May not be suitable for young children if your the type of parent that controls what your children watch. My 33 month year old watches it and I don't think there is anything wrong with it.

I personally find nothing wrong with sponge bob. My son is only allowed a half hour of TV a day. What cartoon he watches is his choice. Sure sponge bob has no educational value but I could care less. I am frankly sick about parents and the whole education TV thing. Sitting down with your child teaching them is the best type of educational entertainment.

I have an 11 year old girl and 15 year old boy who both love the show. I have seen it many times and it is as safe as Bugs Bunny & Daffy Duck! Spongebob is kinda stupid for my adult tastes, however, it is safe.

The only people who really hate Spongebob are selfish adults; like all shows should be tuned for their tastes.
