At about 3 weeks old he started to cry about 2-3 days a week when feeding him at about the same time everyday. Then at about 6 weeks he does it everyday. He does it for about 11/2 -2 hours at night right before bed. A couple times last week he did it ALL day!It sounds like colic, but I am not sure. We switched formula to gentalease and give his gas drops, he seems to be better some days. He does have alot of gas, and will cry when he passes it. Also...How long does the gentalease supposed to help his gas, I just switched 3 days ago? You also know when he is going to cry, he kicks and grunts almost like he is in pain/discomfort. I have also tried excersises with him to help releive the pressure, he seems to like it and smiles, but he get cranky fast and want to eat but it's like he can't becasue he hurts ); What else can I do to make him happier?

My 5-month old son still wakes up during the night.

First, its cause he wants to eat. He usually falls asleep around 9:30-10 pm and usually wakes up around 3-4 am to eat. I tried everything from increasing his formula during the day to fewer naps. Nothing works. If I don't feed him when he wakes, one or the other will happen - he won't stop crying until he eats OR he'll fall back asleep, but will wake up within the next hour or so wanting to eat. I haven't started him on cereal yet.

Two, he doesn't sleep peacefully. It seems like he wakes himself up when he turns himself over while sleeping, then can't get comfortable. Even putting him to sleep takes several attempts. We'll rock him to sleep, then once we put him down, he wakes, then we rock him again, so on, and so on. By our third attempt, he'll finally stay asleep, until 3 am that is to eat.

this is for a school project. what i need are teen facts that parents REALLY have no clue about like "i only drink vodka so my parents won't smell alcohol on my breath." not "teens usually drink at parties" because well, they most likely already know that. it doesn't necessarily have to do with alcohol or drugs and sex, just average teenage life. well, anyways, thanks :)

What is the soonest you can try and find out if it is a boy or girl? I used to think it is 5 months usually but alot of times I have heard of women finding out really soon like 3 months or so. But I know that is too early on ultrasound, is there other ways at all? I dont know how but you never know with todays technology.

I had a d&c and i just reached my 6 week point. I haven't had a cycle yet. So i took a test and it was positive. I have been using protection just so you know. So i called my dr and they said some people can have a false positive. And to wait until i'm 10 weeks and take another test. I feel like i'm pregnant! Tenderness, nausea, hormones! Has anyone heard of this or had a false positive after a d&c?

I just noticed I am still having a discharge, occasionally thin and waery or sometime tick and mucousy. Among additional sign of being pregnant. My last menstrual period began on the 19th. Husband and I had intercourse on the early morning hours of Jan. 30th. I had queasy, abdominal tingling (almost a distorted cramping feeling low in my belly for about 4 days. Strong Metallic taste here and there. Belly not always so crazy now but still feeling bloated and dull with periods of the tingles. I can do with out food right now. I now I am hungry so I am making myself eat. My breast maybe feel full, POSSIBLY a little tender, but what I feel occasional is litte jolts of sensations going on inside them. No painful, but makes you go "whew". Possibly a few other things to. Oh yeah did i tell you my husband thinks I have been moody. What do you think?

All of a sudden about two months ago, I feel really tired. Go to bed at 10pm ... sleep through the night ... and I don't want to get out of bed until 9 am. I've gotten up at 7 and 8 and I feel tired. Not sleepy, but I feel like I've ran a marathon.

I had a thyroid test done and it was normal. My blood work was normal.
Also, my period usually lasted 3 days before I had my son ... he is my third. Now it is lasting like 4-5 days ....

Any ideas what can be going on?

I just feel like sleeping all the time.
Don't feel depressed. I get out of bed, take care of the kids... my husband... work .... clean the house..... stay busy.
I'm only 23 and I feel like a 40 year old woman who hasn't slept for 48 hours.... everyday!!!!

The question seems ridiculous, since he is so young, but unless it is my imagination, he actually shows MORE interest in "forbidden" items such as cords, computers, the (old and delicate) diaper genie, etc., than either his own toys or more innocuous household items. My theory is that this is because he enjoys the attention he receives and/or the (perhaps) amusingly unhappy expression on my face when he goes after these items. I'm torn between wanting to correct him with an emphatic "No!" (so that he will learn what is allowed and what is not) and knowing that this probably just makes him covet the items more. I'm actually starting to feel a little hurt that this chiild, who is treated so well and given plenty of his own things, may actually enjoy seeing me unhappy, but the point is, what can I do? (I don't want to keep him in a playpen all day; we actually gave the one we had away because he never seemed to enjoy it.)

I target Wonderpets specifically because it has a duck with a really bad speech problem. I know that we should have tolerance for people like this, but don't you think that Children who are still developing their speech need to here words pronounced correctly. I know it's cute, but I think it's bad for development. Are there any other shows that you think are bad for child development and why?

2 1/2 containers of fruits and veggies and cereal and all her bottles? she eats maybe 4 bottles of formula, 10 ounces of juice and one 2 1/2oz. container of fruits or veg. she also eats small amounts of cut up fruit and bitter biscuits. is this enough? i can't keep her from her naps. she gets real upset when she's sleepy.should i get up and feed her when she wakes during the night? i'm trying to stop that too.
