First stop stressing! Its not gonna help you and its not that bad! Expect lots more doctors visits, to have to test your sugar levels regularly and to have to strictly regulate your diet. You dont say how severe your diabetes is, if its not too bad this may be all that is required, if your bgl was really high you may need insulin until bub is born, its not too much a biggie if youre careful and you will go back to normal once the baby is born, and believe me when I say that it will happen straight away its really quite bizarre.
I had gestational diabetes with two pregnancies from 18 weeks with the first and 13 weeks with the second. Both times were very severe, 5 insulin injections every day, but the injections didnt hurt and the condition went away at the moment of birth. My daughter was born very healthy but large for her gestational age of 32 weeks (she was prem for reasons other than the diabetes) and at 10 she is an average weight for her height. My son was born at 21 weeks and didnt survive, again not due to the diabetes.
Diabetes complicates pregnancy only a little if you take good care of yourself and pay careful attention to diet. The need to follow your doctor and dieticians advice cant be stressed enough.
Good luck!

Usually one who has gestational diabetes will have diabetes type 2 when they are older. I did when I was pregnant and I am now diabetic. None of my 5 babies weighed over 9. The largest was 8' 3oz. They are all normal, 2 are chunky and 2 are thin, but you will have that in a family anyway. I am sure your Dr will advise you to have some small meals or snacks during the day between meals, and to eat smaller meals. You should also watch your sugar intake and your carbs.

I was diagnosed with GD on my 3rd child.
Went on the diabetes diet, had to do insulin shots every morning.
Baby was 5 ounces more than the others- natural labour and delivery. he did have a big head but that runs in the family.
Kid was fine- is now 23 and strong and skinny.
Just be very consistent with the diet. If you aren't it may not resolve.
I had hypoglycemia after the birth- then it resolved with my next pregnancy.
You will be at higher risk for diabetes over the span of your life so keep the weight down and exercise.
Sounds like you are doing fine. Keep up the good work!
Good luck!

I'm a 45 year old woman and was recently diagnosed as being a borderline diabetic. My doctor prescribed some medication, but before filling it I decided to do some research on the internet which led me to the methods. After reading this ebook and applying the methods, my scepticism turned to 100% belief. I noticed that my energy levels increased significantly and I felt more rested in the morning, my symptoms started going away.
I am very happy to tell you that I have been feeling better than I have felt in years and my doctor informed me that he will be taking me off my prescriptions if I keep this up.
I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

Well really it depends on how high your sugar is...You need to stay away from sugars and carbs...Your OB should give you a referral to an endocrinologist so they can determine if you need to be on insulin and to also have you test your sugar daily before every meal and after every meal to make sure it stays in a certain range....It is known that when you have this condition if it is not taken care of you can have a very large baby and possibly have diabetes even after the baby is born(it usually goes away after the birth of the baby tho).....Make sure you follow up with your OB and get the treatment you need...Good Luck!

Be careful with your weight gain. Stick to your diet and check your sugars. You are at higher risk for developing diabetes. My mother had this with only one of her pregnancies almost 50 years ago and she is not diabetic. Your chances of having a larger baby are increased, my brother was pretty big but his is not heavy now nor is he diabetic. These things are possible but not for sure. I have a friend who had gestational diabetes and her son with that pregnancy was the smallest baby she had.

My sister is an OBGYN and had GD with both of her kids, who were not big babies . She was also a small person too. They are not large kids now either. They were healthy fullterm babies. Just follow your dr's instructions and everything should be fine.
