Pregnancy & Parenting - 8 February 2007

My boy is 3 weeks old, and has been extremely fussy for about 1 1/2 weeks now. He was fine for the first week that we brought him home, and now when he is not sleeping or eating, he cries. The only thing that stops the crying is pacing the floor with him. I don't know what to do! Some people say that 2 weeks is too young for him to develop colic, so it might be something else...? He goes to the bathroom just fine, and he passes gas from both ends regularly. The only thing I have seen that seems a bit odd is that he drools a lot. Please, please, if you've been through this or know someone who has, HELP!!!

Hi, Can any mom tells me please what ELSE I should do to stop my son using easy-ups at night only? He never knows when he will wet the bed, I have tried everything, waking him up, not letting he drink anything before bed time, tells him to go potty before bed time too, and still he wets every single night the bed. He is almost 6 years old, and I have no idea why he still doesn't know when to go to potty at night while he is sleeping. Anyone give me an aswer to tell me what to dooooooooooo.........

My two year old daughter and I went sledding the other day, It is about 10 degrees here. Her mittens kept coming off every time we went down the hill. Does anybody know of a way of keeping her mittens on so they will not fall off her.

My daughter is almost 2, and ever since she was able to move, she smiles, wiggles, moves, and dances to music. Even if it is just background music on a tv show. Is this a normal thing for babies and toddlers, or does she have a special love for music? Nobody in our family is a dancer, so we are kinda clueless. Thanks!

OK here is my story. I had a miscarriage back at the begining of October. We have been trying to get pregnant again. I havent bought a test yet but here it goes. I am 2 days late on my peird, my boobs r kinda sore, I have been sick for the past week really sick at night, very tired, but I cant eat anything because It makes me sick. I have checked my cervix and all I feel is really really soft. Can someone please help me better understand

I mean i have the people saying well if it was rape then its a different story! Then i have people saying well if it was rape she could put it up for adoption! I just dont understand! I mean i cant think of one reason why abortion is ok!! Now dont get me wrong i am very pro-choice ........ i think it is up to the women but i just can never see myself having an abortion. We don't know whether we are having a boy or a girl.

We have some girls names sorted out but no boy names! If it is a boy the middle name has to be Joesph.

Do you have first name suggestions?

We like Sebastian, Christian or Isaiah but these were just names we threw around this morning so they are just preliminary suggestions.

What do you think? Any suggestions?

Last year, there were SO many people it was insane. My parents house is huge, but they were still stuffed in there like sardines. Its too cold in my area to have the party at a park, and there are no Chuck E. Cheese type things withing a couple hours of here. Would you think its rude to only invite family? Just our family alone is big enough, add in the friends, and its insane. We didnt even have time to say hi to everybody last time.

As of FEB 8/07 my wife is 37 weeks along (says the doc)? she was with another man for a while and even after i when overseas she says he is mine the last time i was with here was MAY 8/06 just before i left. I did all the online pregnancy calenders and if that were the case she would be at 39 weeks along not 37weeks, cause 37 weeks puts her at concieving around the 24 of MAY little confused abou this what do you all think

She will only be watching her one day a week. My daughter is almost 2 years old and potty trained. My friend volunteered to do it, and hasnt mentioned money, but I WANT to pay her something. It will be for 8 hours or less, once a week. We live in a small town in Oregon, if that makes a difference. What sounds like a fair way to pay her? Like a flat rate per week, or an hourly rate? How much would YOU charge if you were babysitting a mild-mannered, potty trained 2 year old?

My dad is 6'5, my mom is 5'10, my 16 yr old brother is 6'2. I am taller than he was at my age. My parents say I will be 6'3-6'5. I figured 6'5 to 6'8. I am dreaming? Back in the day when I had my first, everyone said he was tiny (6lbs. 9 oz and 21 inches long) When I had my second baby, she was 8.8 oz and 22 inches long and everyone said she was tiny too. Wish she felt tiny coming out.

Anyway, I read somewhere that the WHO average hasn't changed in 10 years and the average weight of the human newborn is 7.9 lbs or something. Well, what have you personally noticed to be the average in your neck of the woods? Where I am, it seems like everyone is giving birth to toddlers...10lb ers and above seem to be the norm, not so much as a vague look of shock about those jokers anymore.

Are they putting steroids in the prenatal pills these days or are humans just getting bigger due to evolution or something and my body didn't get the memo?

My boyfriend and I are kind of bad off. We don't really trust each other that well.. Well he keeps accusing me of cheating on him and I really do not cheat on him at all! I am 50% effaced and 0% dialated. Does it mean I am closer to having my baby the more effaced I am or the more dialated. I hear of people being dialated and not effaced all the time, but never the other way around. Could I expect a baby this week?
