Hi, Can any mom tells me please what ELSE I should do to stop my son using easy-ups at night only? He never knows when he will wet the bed, I have tried everything, waking him up, not letting he drink anything before bed time, tells him to go potty before bed time too, and still he wets every single night the bed. He is almost 6 years old, and I have no idea why he still doesn't know when to go to potty at night while he is sleeping. Anyone give me an aswer to tell me what to dooooooooooo.........

If you haven't taken him to the doctor, do that first to rule out an physiological problem. If he's okay, what I did with my son was to put the responsibility in his hands. If he wets his bed, it is his job to take all the bedding off of his bed and put it next to the washer so I can wash. He also has to help w/ putting the new bedding on. Having to do a "chore" helped incredibly. I got this advice from John Rosemond who is a child psychologist; I don't know why it works, but it does. My son wets very, very little now; more like when he has had a super busy day and is exhausted. Good luck, stick to your guns.

Firstly, dont let him wear the easy ups. It would confuse him. He needs to know that the only way to stop wetting the bed is to learn better control.
I suggest you get a plastic mattress cover and lots of sheets. Let him use the bathroom just before going to bed, then wake him around midnight and again around 3/4 a.m. to go. Keep doing this and eventually he'll wake on his own. And dont get discouraged if you miss a few times (we're only human).
I had the same problem with my daughter. She's 8 now and she doesnt wet the bed anymore. She uses the bathroom before going to bed, occasionally wakes for a midnighter, but mostly last until morning. Her mattress cover is still on, Just in case.
The important thing though is, to let him know its okay if he wets the bed. It doesn't make him any less loved. Also offer little tokens whenever theres an improvement. This would encourage him to try even harder not to wet the bed.
Good Luck!

Take him to a urologist. This is common and usually the bladder is not large enough to hold all night. This is definately treatable. I had this problem too. My mom used to not let me have anything to drink two hours before my bed time. She'd wake me up at 1 am every night. This didn't stop until much later - maybe a year or two.
But, by that point it was a habit and at 29 it still is a habit. But, watch your son closely. At night as a teenager I would still get up at 1 am and sleep walk.

The first thing you should do is take him to the doctor and find out why he is wetting the bed. It could be night terrors causing it or he is just a very very deep sleeper . I know it is frustrating for you and it can be frustrating for him as well and also embarrassing.
THere is a home remedy that I hear works as well and maybe you can try it until you can talk to your pediatrician. Take a teaspoon of honey and a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar, give it to him a half hour before he goes to bed. IT is supposed to be effective, I have heard from others, that they have noticed a difference
GOOD LUCK TO YOU. :)

Id say the first thing to do is take him to a pediatric urologist. Have him checked out to make sure theres nothing physically wrong here. After that realize it takes time and all kids are different. Ive been thru this. My son was 9 and still using a diaper at nite. Doctors said it was not unusual. I think the things your doing are all good and correct and should eventually bear fruit for you. it takes patience and understanding and dont compare his progress to other kids. He will get there, your doing ok.

See your pediatrician. He might actually have a medical condition which causes bed-wetting. My brother actually wet the bed until he was 8 or so and they had him on medication which helped this.

u might want to take him to the doctor because the problem could be more serious than a little bed wetting. he might also do it for attention.

You are to blame, look you still call it "potty" when refering to your 6 year old. Thats sad you both need to grow up.
Or better yet, just let him were one for the rest of his life. He's gonna need one when he's 80 and you wont be theere to show him how to use it so he might as well never stop.
