Pregnancy & Parenting - 8 February 2007

We have a 7 year old daughter and are expecting another girl in June. I wanted to have a balloon boquet with a gift basket sent to our 7 year old when her sister is born. I have a big sister charm for her bracelet and I am going to order a big sister t-shirt, but I thought I should add some other things as well. Maybe some things that aren't related to the baby. Any ideas?

Im only 16 weeks but for the last few days my back has really been bothering. My stomach feels like its stretching too. Today my back is really bad and Xtra strength Tylenol is not touching it. What can I do to get some relief?

i was just reading an article on how women across America are refusing to cover up while breastfeeding their babies.ok when i do have kids(god willing) i plan to nurse them.but I'm not going to be in public when my stuff hanging all out.how hard is it to use a blanket or at least a napkin to cover up?its disgusting.

what are your thoughts? and i would love to hear from nursing mothers on how they feel.

My son is 14,and thinks he's ugly(it hurts me to say that he's not good looking but he's definitely not ugly).
I think that he's having problems in making a girlfriend..he's now
isolating himself from the whole world,he just go into his room and close the door and listen to music so loud(mostly Eminem).
he wasn't like this,he used to love quiet songs but now he embraces Eminem..(I don't mind it at all but it's too much)+he's becoming more violent.

I'm really scared that he'll end up hurting himself.

My daughter has been on the same brand of babyfood for the past 6 months (Heinz)..and she just recently stopped being interested in any veggies..She's fine with the mixed food/and loves fruit..but she has too much cases of diarhea from the fruit. So I was thinking about trying a different brand..maybe she will like it better. But I am concerned this may cause diarhea..has anyone switched food..and what happened?

My third daughter does not sleep well at night. I thought that good sleep habits were a learned behaviour but they are not. She fusses a lot at night , I have just weaned her of drinking formula at night and that was a struggle. Still she will only sleep 8 hours of uninterupted sleep without a bottle of formula now and beleive that was an endevour. She will wake up after 8 hours and be awake for an hour then go back to sleep ...after drinking a bottle.
Is there something wrong with this?

July 29th got my period..then nothing in august, nothing in september...i took pregnancy tests after missing in august and sept...they were all negative..so i def thought i wasnt preg..b/c if i didnt get a preiod in that long..i figured i must not have been ovulating..oct 6th was the last hpt i took..it was negative...on 0ct 19th i started bleeding and cramping very heavily..went to the ER..they did a preg test,told me it was POSITIVE?! according to the doc.. i went to the gyno around the last week of sept & that test was neg too..but on that day the doc asked me the last time i had sex and i said about a wk or 2 ago...so when at the er they told me that when i had sex about middle of sept.thats when i got pregnant...i wondered HOW if i hadnt gotten a period..doc said period must have been coming when i had sex in mid sept. so all the time i was testing i hadnt even ovulated yet..beginning of oct tho my boobs were hurting which nvr happend b4..basically, this is all happening again

My five month old has been sleeping through the night for a couple of months. All of a sudden she is now waking up several times (4 or 5) in the night and usually is only sleeping 40-50 min stretches? What is going on? We have tried letting her cry it out, but she still won't settle unless one of us goes in her room & sticks her soother in her mouth. I even tried a bottle thinking she may be going through a growth spurt, but she didn't seem to be hungry. She slept better as a newborn!! This has been going on for a week and we are getting really frustrated and TIRED! This 40 minute thing has even carried forward to her naps in the day too! Any suggestions on the cause and a cure??

Hi, ladies. This month my hubby and I made love at the best time of the month to conceive-- I had lots of slippery mucous, and according to the ovulation tests I was ready. The only problem is that for about 3-4 months my cycle was not so much regular. In December it was about 45 days that is not usual for me. Last cycle was 32 days. Well, for the last few days I feel backache, especially at night time. Could you describe what kind of pain is it if you are pregnant? I am not sure about the cause of my ache.
Sorry for a bit absent-minded letter. I feel unwell now.

Can anyone give me any tips/suggestions on how I can get comfortable when I go to bed?
I am 6 months pregnant and I like to sleep on my side. Only thing is if I don't support my belly it aches, if I put a pillow under it I am just soooo uncomfortable. Any ideas of what I can do to get a good night's rest?

I have posted questions on here regardig a nightmare three year old and have suggested going to a parenting clas with my other half to maybe improve how we are with him and if we can do better. The problem is, the three year old isnt mine but i am more of a dad to him than anyone has ever been and i just want the best for him and his mum. I have made a fe calls and one is starting shortly near us, but i have been told i shouldnt interfere and she has no need to go on the course whatsover. I tried to explain that she aint a bad mum but all of us can improve on something and its in the best interest of the little one if we can make lifebetter for him and us in the long run. She is still adamant she wont go and it has caused a bt of a row between us. Have I really done wrong here?

I have just finished taking medication for a BV infection the medication is (metronidazole 500 mg take twice a day)same as flagyl. I forgot to take my orange active aviane birth control pill Saturday but I did take one for Sunday which was the inactive pill . Monday I saw I didn't take the one for Saturday and so I took the bc pill now I am not having a normal period I am not sure if the medication is making my period abnormal or if I am pregnant I did have sex Saturday it was about 3:00 am . I don't think I should be pregnant but the medication is known for making bc weak. I am having dark bleeding since Monday the day my period should have came on does this sound like i am pregnant? I am going to take a test today or should I wait until this week is over? I am so confused.

Help. I am confused about something. The clearblue ovulation kit says when the LH surge is detected your most fertile days are the next 48 hours.
Can one have sex two days in a row without weakening the sperm? It goes against other stuff I have read about spacing out intercourse every 48 hours so that the sperm gets a chance to build numbers.
My hubby and I TTC a couple of days ago too, which would make things even more confusing for me now.
Anyone out there with some info on this pls help, thanks!

She hasnt thrown up in about 4 days, and will eat french toast, some fruit, but nothing really substantial, I am going crazy with worry and she is a skinny minny to start with she cant lose any more weight.
