Pregnancy & Parenting - 8 February 2007

So my last girlfriend told me she would be responsible for birth control. She could not keep a job was in school working towards a master degree in a field you can't even make any money in while I was dating her. She moves away 150 miles and then tells me she pregnant and want $800 a month for child support. Her parents buy here a brand new house and she expects me to pay for part of that also. I have no problem with birth control (Condom or Vasectomy). What type of life style does she expect for a baby when she has not even planned out her life?

How many outfits per season do you buy for your kids? i tend to over-buy and i said i would not do it again with my now 1 yr old son and i did and he has outfits he has outgrown and never worn!!! My other child is 8 yrs old and i buy her a lot of clothes too!!! how many outfits per baby stage do you buy?? 9-12 mo? 12-18? 18-24 mos? thanks for any and all your help

Our 16 month old has all the symptons of a cold (coughing, ear infection, yellowish mucus). Yesterday, dr. prescribed antibiotics for the ear infection. Also, provided samples of Zyrtec...for congestion? Will this work? (if Zyrtec is for allergies). Her Daddy has allergies....but, not seeing the connection given the strong cold symtoms.

Anyone have experience giving Zyrtec to a toddler? Side effects? (irratability....please no....we've got enough w/ the cold symptoms themselves :0 )

which work for you, cos i used the cheap ones for a whole month and never got two lines to say i was ovulating (but must of as i had a period!). did anyone else have this and does anyone else use the more expensive ov tests an how do you get on with those?

Youngest sister is to be 17 in 2 weeks & we just found out she may possibly be pregnant. (Young, I know...) My parents are flipping out (I don't blame them!) & are insisting she's not just cause she's had a period or two & is spotting now. I've tried to reassure them that it's completely possible but they're just too much in denial. The urine test they gave her at the doctors says positive but I know sometimes there are circumstances that cause a false positive...such as being on certain meds, etc. (My dad had looked that up cause my mom had brought up that idea.) She goes in Friday for a pelvic ultrasound to determine it. After asking her a few questions, I figured her to be about 2 months...maybe more, maybe less.

If she is around that far along would something most definitely show up on an ultrasound??? That's probably the only way to get my parents into reality....

Also, anybody got any ideas on how she should tell her now-ex bf if she is??? He's the same age.........

but after you had a baby you had bad cramps,espacially on one side.my daughter had her baby 4 months ago and has bad cramps more on one side,and ahe had a c-section i dont know what to tell her because i always had bad cramps.

Well to start off my son is 2 and my daughter is 10 months. I think I might have a problem but I am not too sure. My daughter is only 10 months. I feel the need to give her everything. She has Torticollis (head tilt) and it developed in the womb and I kind of feel like I did that to her, Even though they said there's nothing I could have done. Her name is Aurora, named after the dawn and sleeping beauty. I already bought a Sleeping Beauty doll collection for her. Plus I am starting a Barbie Doll collection for her also. She already has an American Doll. I bought three Barbie's yesterday and The Jeff Gordon nascar Barbie. I'm thinking that this will be a great investment later on in life if she wants to sell it. Well, let's just say I buy a lot for her. With my son, I have bought the entire collection of Thomas the tank engine. Everything he has is Thomas. Clothes, shoes, bedroom set, I mean everything Thomas! We make good money, is this that bad to do this?

I have until the end of February to have my period, so I'm not quite sure if I should run out and buy a pregnancy test. But last Sunday while my boyfriend and I were having sex, i started getting this severe pain in my back and began cramping really bad. We had to stop because the pain was so bad I began crying. It hurt to walk, sit, move, it was bad. Is that a sign of pregnancy? I've also been told that being pregnant might cause a increase in appetite, and I've been eating ALOT more than I used to be. Maybe I'm being a little paranoid, but could I be pregnant?

Hi people is it normal for a 16 mths old who enjoy throwing things he could get hold of. Toys, water bottles, almost anything he can reach. And oso likes to open the wardrobe take out all the clothes and throw them all around. I try to scold and beat his hand, but he don't seem to be scared. i had a baby dec 10th i have been having sharp pains in my overy/uterous areas for about 3 weeks now also spotting blood (on and off, mostly after sex and lasts a few days) and lots of discharge, doc did cultures and everything was fine, sono was done to rule out cysts. Anyone have any ideas? how eary can pregnancy be detected on sono? husband and i have been very cautious but im running out of causes..

I am going to tell you my "symptoms" you tell me what you think. Yes I am pregnant!
*cervix feels open a finger
*cervix is very short and soft
*cramping for about 4 days (radiating down my legs)
*TONS of discharge
*yesterday big glob clear discharge

Other symptoms probably not related to above:
*Shoulder pain (dont know why)
*right side stomach pain (again don't know why)
*Severe swelling of hands and slight swelling of face
*slight headaches almost daily

So... I know I need to talk to my doctor and I am going to. I just wanted some opinions on what you would think it is before I go jumping to conclusions. So what do you think? Thanks in advance.

My daughter is one month old. I am feeding her about three ounces of formula every 4-5 hours, I always burp her about every ounce. about 15 minutes after she eats she will spit ALOT of her formula out. I thought I was feeding her too much so I tried giving her two ounces but she cried and cried untill I gave her the third ounce. Why does she spit up so much?

My 2 -1/2 week old has oral thrush and has also passed it to my nipples through breastfeeding. She was prescribed Nystatin but it doesn't seem to be helping at all. She is very gassy and fussy. Her first week of life she was so content and pleasant. Could the gassiness be caused by the thrush? Also I have Nystatin cream for my nipples. My nipples are doing a little better. They were so bad that they were bleeding, but that's done with now. Is there anything out there that's better than the Nystatin at clearing it up? I have an appointment with her pediatrician tomorrow and wanted to go in being prepared to reccommend other treatments.

My little boy wakes every two to three hours during the night. Im nursing him . He goes to bed with a nice full tum of grub yet keeps waking in the night. Im not sure I believe in the "Cry it out" method, besides, he stands in his crib and would get so upset that he'd bump his head off the cribs rim...Its such a difficult situation and because Im so tired I cant think straight and figure it out, also, this is my first child, so Im no pro!

My 11 week old baby has gotten the same cold my 4 year old has. Niether one of them have any fever. They have stuffy/runny nose, sneezing, and some coughing (i believe from their nose being stuffy). Is this serious? Do I need to take them to the doctor or is there something I can do for them at home? I have been giving my 4 year old over the counter meds which seems to help him.
