I'm not trying to get pregnant. I'm been off of them probably a 1 month or so. My boyfriend had a slip up and I'm wondering if the hormones are still present to prevent a pregnancy

Missing a single pill in a month can lead to an unintended pregnancy. On the other hand, it can take up to a year for someone to get pregnant once they start trying. In other words, it would help to know if you're asking because you want to get pregnant, or because you don't.

If you want to get pregnant, give it a few months. You might also consider going to your OB/GYN for a pre-conception appointment. He or she can talk to you about things you can do to optimize your health, and therefore optimize your fertility and increase your chances of a healthy baby. Taking folic acid supplements, for example, is a good idea if you're going to start to try to conceive.

On the other hand, if you've gone off of the pill and you're wondering if you can still have sex without getting pregnant - it's not worth the risk. Use another form of birth control. Unless you're in a long term, committed relationship, it's best to use condoms to protect yourself from STDs.

It really all depends on how long you have been taking the pills and how accurate you are with taking them. One other thing that you have to put into consideration is how your body works. For example I was on the depo shot for three years and I was told that it would take me over a year to get pregnant. After I got off the shot I was pregnant within 5 months.

I am not sure how long it takes for them to get out of your system. But, everytime that I stopped them within a few weeks I was pregnant. Then when I take them I never do. Therefore I really do not know how long it takes to get out of your system. Maybe it just depends on who the person is and how their body is made up.

Doctors say you should wait at least 6 months after stopping the pill to try and get pregnant.

No time at all. The pills you take the period week are "blanks".......there is nothing in them. That is why you bleed. so the day you start taking them, the pills are out of your system. If you don't start a new pack, they will stay out of your system.

it is reccomended that you wait 2 months before trying to concieve so that your cycle goes back to normal (BC pills force you to become regular) so that you can better track your fertile days, etc.
