All of a sudden about two months ago, I feel really tired. Go to bed at 10pm ... sleep through the night ... and I don't want to get out of bed until 9 am. I've gotten up at 7 and 8 and I feel tired. Not sleepy, but I feel like I've ran a marathon.

I had a thyroid test done and it was normal. My blood work was normal.
Also, my period usually lasted 3 days before I had my son ... he is my third. Now it is lasting like 4-5 days ....

Any ideas what can be going on?

I just feel like sleeping all the time.
Don't feel depressed. I get out of bed, take care of the kids... my husband... work .... clean the house..... stay busy.
I'm only 23 and I feel like a 40 year old woman who hasn't slept for 48 hours.... everyday!!!!

Sounds like your hormones are taking a while to readjust. I found some of these same symptoms up to eight months after my son was born. It's obviously a really intense experience for the body. And, unfortunately, as we get older, it gets harder for us to rebound from pregnancies. You say you have three children. Just the thought of taking care of them, keeping house, work, all that makes me tired. Try talking to you hubby and see if he can pitch in more like doing the dishes after dinner or bathing the children so you can have some quiet time or get some help from friends and family. It's also winter, and I am a firm believer that humans are supposed to hybernate too :) so you're probably tired from the weather too. Try to get some exercise, be sure to drink plenty of water and try to hang in there. Hopefully it won't go on much longer. Best of luck!

Are you breastfeeding? I felt exhausted all of the time until I stopped.

Taking care of three children, a house, and a husband is draining, no matter how good you are at it! A good multivitamin can help if you're not getting all of the vitamins and minerals that you need. I wish I had something more concrete to give you...I have a seven-month old, and only now am I starting to feel more like myself.

Good luck, and don't be afraid to go back to your ob/gyn or primary care physician and insist that they help you out!!!

Wow, I wasn't the only one who felt that way. I know exactly how you feel. It took me about a year or more to get back to having as much energy as before and my periods are still irregular. I've been to the doctor and all they do is put me on birth control pills and they make me sick to my stomach. Anyways, just hang in there, it will get better. You might try taking vitamins and exercising always helps me if your not already doing it. goodluck
p.s. ......... you do work a lot too you might try to take a short break if it's possible I know it's hard whenever you have all of the demands of a mom and wife lol

what's the deal?! you carried your baby in your tummy for nine months, gave birth, and is now taking care of the family.. who wouldn't be tired if she went through all that? well, my mom said it will take at least a year to recover from tiredness (or fatigue to some).. it's normal.. maybe you should get your husband to help you with other chores especially during weekends when he is in the house..

I had my babies 13 years and 4 years ago and I am still tired. Just don't worry to much, you are going to be tired and busy till your children move away, then you get grand kids to wear you out.
