Pregnancy & Parenting - 5 February 2007

my last period was around Nov. 25th, and the day I would have concieved was Dec. 10th. I have had some spotting around the time of my period, but that' s it, normally I have periods that lat 3 days. I am on birth control but I dont always take it at the same time. I have had terrible constipation, terrible headaches, my breast hurt (mostly at night, which is wierd to me), I did have a spell of hot and cold flashes. I feel hungry all the time, but get full really easily now, I have to eat lots of small meals, which I normally dont do. My moods swings are crazy, their up and down. The thing is I've been having all these signs of pregnancy and Ive taken acouple of home pregnancy test, the last time I took one was acouple of days ago, and they all still come out negative. Is that wierd, do you think it could be possible that I am pregnant?

I forget somewhat how to cook hard boiled eggs...i want to make them for my 1 yr old son. a saucepan of boiling water, put warm tap water on the egg then add the egg in the saucepan of water then turn down heat to low and cook for 10 minutes then mash it with butter...is this correct?

I am bipolar, but under treatment and medication. I would prefer not to have children on my own because I know that bipolar is genetic. I really believe that I would be a good mom, but would I even be given the chance since I am bipolar even though it is treated?

I dont really understand the whole cycle time like perphaps i started on the 7th of december and on january i started on the 5th and i just started my period again on Febuary 3rd, so do i add by the first day of the cycle to the day before my next menstrual period day or do i count it from the day i start to the next day i start ? i wondering if i am a 30 day cylcle or 29 even though they are not always exact days just by like 1,2,3 days? please help me to understand this cylcel stuff i been trying to get pregnant for mainly a year and 1 month now and nothing?

My son just turned 18mths and I have been breastfeeding him since he was born. I had planned to continue until he lost the urge to suckle which I read would be around 2-3 yrs old. I could have lived with that but recently my nipples have begun to hurt either because he's suckling harder or perhaps there's just less milk now, I don't know but I want him to stop!

I can basically distract him during the day but at nite he needs me to breastfeed him to fall asleep and during the nite to stay asleep. Last nite I tried regular milk and a formula that I put in his cereal every morning together in a bottle but he refused it.
We were up until 12mn trying to get him to drink it. I even gave my husband a similar bottle so that my son will see him drinking from it and mimic him. Didn't work! He cried and cried until I gave in.
Please help...

Isn't it depressing when you realize how many 13 and 14 year olds are already non-virgins and sleeping with people as old as 16-20? I mean, I live in the number one town in America, I can't even imagine what's happening in less fortunate areas! I'm still a virgin, but a few of my friends have admitted sleeping with their older boyfriends. Isn't it sad? Don't teens have morals anymore? I get kind of dissapointed because I believe in waiting until marriage, and if not that at least waiting until you're 17. Why is this happening? I mean, so many teens give away their viginity like they're giving away kisses. I've also noticed this on TV. Everyone is sleeping around at 16! Can you image what it will be like in 20 years?

At school I kicked boys before that were bugging me and they never bothered me again! Ok, maybe once or twice I pretended to be pissed off just to do it, but I am sure they did something wrong to girls sometime so they probably deserved it anyway, besides girls in my year do it all the time. Some of the boys were almost as big as my Dad, so if I can beat them…
The problem is that he doesn’t let me do everything I want! I know I have to thank my Dad for being a girl, because I learned in school that is the sperm that determines the gender of the baby, but that don’t give him the right to tell me what to do, it’s MY life!! My patience has limits!
I already taught my younger Brother a lesson, but I am not sure about my Dad. And if you don’t like my question then stop reading it and don’t comment.

My Son is 18 months old and not talking yet so his Dr. is concerned. He is developing fine in all other areas, just his speech is lacking. He USED to say “Mama”, “DaDa” and “YumYum” but stopped about 4-5 months back. He does make noises like “Ha” and “BaBa” and “DaDa”, but none of them are exclusive to one thing or another…just general noises. When he goes in for his next check up she will send him for a speech evaluation and speech therapy if he’s not speaking yet. Have you been to speech therapy with your child or are you a Speech Therapist? Can you give me some tips on what we can do at home to better encourage him without him feeling pressured?

We of course encourage speaking by asking him what he wants a few times and then as we are doing the action he asked for we tell him what we’re doing. We ask him to use his words to tell us what he wants instead of just putting our hand on an object.

I know this is long but I wanted to give as much info. As I could so I can get the best tips possible. Oh, and I know that all children develop at their own pace so please…no comments like that.

I, like most women, am concerned about gaining weight. I'm 22 weeks and have already gained 19 pounds. I'm hungry all the time, and I try to cut down on my carbs, but those are all I crave! Anyone else have this problem?

O.K so I'd really like to thank everyone who answered all of my other questions and who helped me and I've been really confused as to whether I'm pregnant and even though the doctors haven't confirmed anything because they wont make anymore appointments for me, I have just felt the biggest kick ever and it can't be anything else and it's been kicking all day so I'M PREGNANT WOOOOOOOOOOOOO 22 weeks!! Anyway my question is after feeling the best thing ever, when will I be able to see the baby's movements, like outside of the body like when people see lil baby feet!!?

They say if the doc misses the exact point you might be paralysed for life! but I'm soo scared of labour pains. What should I do. My OB advised me to get it as it's far more easy and without pain.. But I'm scared or the PARALYSE thing

My friend and I are both Christians, although I admit I'm not where I should be right now. My friend just went through a miscarriage, and she keeps asking, "Why did God take away my baby? Why do you hear about these criminals on the news that have perfectly healthy children? Why do they get to keep their kids, and I don't?" I really don't know what to say. Are there any Bible verses I can give to her to help her with this? Is there anything I can say?

My step daughter is really silent all the time. She is 13. She has not once been disrespectful to me or my daughter but she never looks me or my husband in the face. When we talk at the dinner table she just looks down at her food and doesn't say a word to either of us. She talks to her siblings regularly but doesn't say much to her half sister. When we are all involved in a conversation in the car she is in her own little world. She doesn't say much to us but she does what she is told and stuff. She never EVER is rude or disobeys. She doesn't speak unless spoken to. And has very few friends and isn't trying to make any. She always seperates herself from the crowd unless with her siblings or her boyfriend she locks the door to her room so I cannot be in I do not want to be nosy and search it but I am becoming more and more worried about her. I have tried bonding with her but she always goes off by herself.
