I am planning to become pregnant this year and would like to deliver at a birth center. Do you know which health insurance plans pay the best maternity benefits for using a birth center with a midwife?

I gave birth to both of my children at a birth center with midwives. With my first, I was working (and so was my husband) so we had two insurance companies to file with. My midwife called the insurance companies for me to find out what my out-of-pocket expense would be. With my second, we only had my husband's insurance coverage. Do you know which midwife and birth center you want to use? If so, contact them now and have them call your insurance since they know what code names and insurance lingo to use. :) It's hard to say who has better coverage since every company is totally different. I think with my daughter, we paid about $700-$800 and with my son, when we only had 1 insurance, I can't remember at all what we paid......sort of lose memory cells when you have kids. LOL!
