I have an alost 7 yr old step son and his mother is a total loss...but she decided that she wants to come for christmas. (The last time he seen her was last christmas.) I am totally upset because for 5 yrs now I have done it all from potty train and go to his first day of school. I want him to have his mom but I just feel pushed out here.My husband just rolls over and plays dead when It comes to her..and I am pretty sure that she will come and stay at our house...because neither of us trust her. I love the boy with all my heart and I am trying to be a grownup about it, but I am having a baby in about three weeks and I am stressed and emotional.
My husband says I am acting like a physcho and I most likely am...I am just getting tired of it. She acts like she should get the mother of the year award for showing up once a year...no child support just christmas presents..and she brings them for our three year old too....like that's going to help. Am I over reacting? HELP!!!!

I know it says on the bottle "No added sugar" but I get the feeling it will still rot their teeth. My mother in law insists on giving it to my 2 year old son as he thinks he is a "big boy" drinking it from the bottle but I usually only give him very dilute squash or water. What do other parents think?

My husband and I are in our mid 20s with steady careers and we own a home. We would like to have a child, but we're not sure when it would be a good time. We keep saying that we will have a child after we pay off our debt (credit card and car loan), but everyone says that you'll never really be ready...and that you just need to do it. I don't want to miss out on having a family for the next 3 years while we pay off debt, but I don't want to be irresponsible either. And as a side note, I am VERY afraid of pregnancy and childbirth, so this absolutely terrifies me, but it's very important to both of us to do this.

My 6 months old daughter is constipated. We called the doctor and they suggested Prune Juice. She doesn't like the Prune Juice and it's really difficult to get her drink even 1 ounce. She seems to like Prunes in the baby food form. Applesauce is what "stopped" her up and the doctor said to steer clear of that, carrots, and bananas until she's normal again. Other than prunes/prune juice, what else can we give her? We just started her on stage 1 foods on her 6 months birthday and we don't want to completely stop feeding her solids but we definately want her feeling better and back to normal a.s.a.p.

He is an honor student -ALWAYS studying; has no friends, no hobbies other than playing piano and riding his bike. He seems depressed to me, rarely smiles and talks even less, nothing seems to impress or excite him. He is quite antisocial. This is my brothers son. What gift do you get someone like this???

my son is 6 moths old and he spends most time with me. Thus, when his grandmother comes once per week to babysit him, starts to cry after 30-45 minuts; when I step in to the room where he sits with the gradma, he calms down but when I try to go to the other room to work, he cries so hard... the grandma says he is spoiled and I should let him cry-out but I cannot... I don't want him to feel rejected. What do you think?

I am 9 days past my ovulation and I had notice brownish spotting and also a lot of yellowish vaginal discharge. I am taking progesterone suppl which might cause the discharge, but it seems little different then previously. I also have very sore breast and bad cramps and abdominal pain, but then again it might be a result of clomid and progesterone suppl. I am just curious if my spotting which was so slight, and it happend twice only could be an implantation bleeding.

My baby was born on November 30th and although I am so happy he's here I feel really blue.

I'm very tired, not sleeping, forgetting to eat and it sounds silly but I miss being pregnant!! I miss feeling my baby inside me, miss seeing my (wonderful) midwife and feeling cared for by everyone around me.

Is this postnatal depression? Did anyone else feel this way? I love my baby so much but I just feel so down!

I am 15 weeks pregnant with my second child and my morning sickness seems to be getting worse instead of getting better. It has went from just in the morning to feeling nauseated all day long. With 1st baby my morning sickness totally went away by 12 weeks. Has anyone else experienced this and if so when did it finally ease up? Does this indicate some sort of problem? I have my 16 week appointment this friday so I'll check with the doctor then but I'm just looking for some kind of reassurance till then. Thanks

My daughter can talk. She makes specific requests but prefers to use her hands and eyes to communicate. Most children at this age are more verbally expressive and I worry that I may be doing something wrong. Her pediatrician does not believe that she has autisim. Any suggestions?

i am 26 weeks pregnant and all my dad and them can say is how big i am getting and i feel like my boyfirend is starting to become less attracted to me because i am gaining weight. he doesnt look at me the same way and i feel like he misses my old body. when we used to have sex he would comment on how good i looked and stare at me and now its not like that. i feel so unatractive and it worries me that i might lose him. when i ask him about it he tells me i am crazy and he loves me and i am still beautiful but i feel like he is just saying that so i wont cry since my hormones are wacky. he just thinks i am over reacting but i dunno what to do? has ne one felt this way before and what can i do to make this feeling go away.

My daughter just turned 2 on the 9th of Dec. She is suddenly fearful of almost anything anywhere. She seen Santa Claus on a gift bag and was fine with it (was actually excited to see it) until dad said in a deep voice, "Santa says ho, ho, ho." Then she was totally freaked out by the bag and wouldn't even touch it. This happened in our own house and she wouldn't let me put her down. She clung onto me with all her might. She used to go to bed just fine too and now, the last two nights she has cried and screamed at the top of her lungs. I tried to ignore her because usually after 5min. of crying she'll go to sleep, but last night she screamed for 20min. I just don't know what to do for her. I don't want her to get used to us rocking her. She usually goes to sleep just fine on her own. Does anyone have any suggestions how to calm this fear during the day and night?? Especially bed time.

I'm just wondering what they norm is. My husband makes me feel like I get too much and yet I always feel like I didn't quite get enough for my kids. They are young, early elementary, and I buy them some clothes, pajamas, shoes. THis year they all got a watch, a book, a bike or trike and about 3 toys. What is your normal?

I'm full term now and people have told me that at this point the baby's movements usually slow down, possibly as she's getting ready for birth and running out of space. However, I feel like my baby is trying to kick or punch her way out! She wasn't a huge mover before...I always felt little kicks and movements, mostly at night. But now it seems like she's always doing something and I'm constantly seeing my stomach move around where her foot or hand is...it's sometimes painful! I'm not worried...I thank God she's active in there! I'm just wondering if this is normal or (oh, no!) if it means I will be pregnant for longer than I'd hoped and expected. You ladies know how it is....it's getting a bit uncomfortable at this point and I'm ready to get the labor part over with!!!

I have had 2 children the last beening 10 months ago and I eally need to lose the extra weight. I would feel a whole lot better, more energized for my kids. But now my husband is trying to help by giving me insentive. He is a long time smoker and I would love for him to quit but he said he like smoking. The other night he made a bet with me that if I loose 30 pounds he'll take a dance calss with me and if I can loose 50pounds he'll quit smoking. I need and can to do this! I am a very fussy eater. My husband can never watch the kids cause of his work schedule and I can't afford to pay a sitter and pay for a member ship to a gym. How can I still get the work out I need with a 3 year old and 10 month old on my hip. Any sugestions?
