My daughter, who's 9 years old, thinks it's unfair that I have her doing dishes on a daily basis. Mind you, I only have her do them once a day. I always tell her to leave the knives and pots for me to wash, and she does the plates, cups and utensils. Am I wrong for having her do dishes at this age?

I went to get bloodwork done this morning for a reason, other than pregnancy. I will have the results back by Wednesday or Thursday of this week. If I did not ask them to test the blood for pregnancy, can they tell if I am or will they only test for the reason that I went in for?
I'm not sure if I am pregnant-- I am only late 2 days...and am just curious...

I guess that I can't understand since I spent all 9 months leaning over the toilet throwing my guts up. I can understand that you might not know until later on but how can someone go into labour without even knowing that they were having a baby. I'm not saying that it doesn't happen, just that I can't imagine having no side effects of pregnancy whatsoever. Has anyone on here been pregnant and not known until they were in labour?

I have a 2 1/2 yr old grandson that my husband and I have been raising. He's lived w/us since his birth along w/ his mother, but care for him. A few days ago, she decided she wants to "play" mom. She making him stay up in thier apt w/ her now. Blocking the stairs so he can't get down to us. So, she been doing him to bed, my issue is -- he usually doesn't want to go to bed, but the 4 nights she put him to bed and he didn't make a sound and he slept all night, which isn't normal for him. The mom is having an issue w/ drinking alcohol and we believe she's giving it to him to get him to go to sleep and keep him asleep. I located his cup in the frig. w/ a drink that tasted like it had alcohol in it. If I say anything to her she will get upset because I was in her room. So, what should I do??

Assume that you and your mate carry the genes for a serious disease. If you were to have children, there is a very good chance the child would develop the disease.

Knowing this, would you go ahead and roll the dice and have children?

Myt wife is about 2 months pregnant with our first baby and doesn’t look pregnant yet. I still find her attractive and I will when she is 9 months pregnant as well. Attraction is not the problem as I am able to become aroused by her.

Problem is that I am not able to finish because I am afraid of hurting her abdomen. Her uterus area is sore and she doesn’t want pressure on it because it makes her uncomfortable, so the entire time we are having sex I think about how she must be uncomfortable and I can’t finish.

We tried other positions where I am not putting weight on her stomach, but I am still nervous about hurting her uterus or something stupid like that!

Is this normal for a guy? How can I get over it? Also, will I be even more worried when her stomach is bigger?

My dad called me today for help with my younger two sisters. (i'm 20 and married) they are almost 11 and 14.

my mother died from cancer 4 years ago (as of jan 2) and he is having some problems.

see, the 14 yr old tends to assume the mommy position, and is also responsible for more household things than the 11 year old. by more, i mean 90%. my dad is feeling really bad.. he doesn't know what to do.

i gave him some ideas on evening out the chore load, that he approved of, but i need some brainstorming here:

1. how can he make the 14 yr old feel more appreciated?
2. how can he even out the chore load?
3. how can he discourage the 14 yr old from trying to fulfill the "mommy" role
4. how can he improve the two sisters relationships? the older of the two tends to have some resentment issues toward the younger and is very mean
5. how can he continue to help them grieve? (aside from counseling)
6. what other ideas do you have, in general..

thanks so much for your input

I thought I was pregnant before my last period because my breasts were extra tendor, and I was very nausea, and I had taken an antibiotic with my birth control and did not use another form of protection. Because of that I was pretty stressed out... I then missed my period, and only had brown spotting for a few days. (Not sure if it was implantation bleeding or caused by stress) Then everything stopped, the nausea, breast tendorness, fatigue, and I felt myself again. So, then I thought, I must have just stressed myself out and missed my period. Just to make sure I took a test 7 days after missing my period and it was negative, and another the next day which was negative. Now I am two weeks past my period and I am starting to feel very nausea again and have headaches, and it feels like my breasts are starting feel a little sore again... Now I am all confused- Is it because my cycle is mixed up and I am just ovulating, or if there is that chance that I am pregnant

What are some thoughts?

I am 16 weeks pregnant woth my second child. With my first I had pethidine and I really regretted it because I started talking nonesense and slurring and then I souldn't remember anything, not even the baby being put on my stomach.
What I wanted to know was was it the pethedine that made me forget everything or does that just happen anyway?
