I dunno if they really have favorite colors or what. But I think that my daughter's favorite color is yellow. The reason I say that is cause if I hold up an outfit for her to look at the only one she will watch and reach for is yellow no matter what the other colors are.She also picked out her own blanket and picked the yellow one and the toys she wants are all yellow. She is 12 months.

I've always heard that they don't enjoy certain colors, but respond to higher contrasts in colors, like they love black, white, and red combos,b/c they contrast so highly, I bought my son all kinds of black/white/red toys, including a gymini mat by tiny love toys and he loves them, supposedly it helps induce better brain function, but I guess we'll see. My oldest son is now 6 and has been readin gsince he was an old 4, young 5, which is extremely early, so maybe there is some truth to it. Of course, he does come from parents who are a nurse and a mechanical engineer, that may have something to do with it:) Hehe I've got the biology and English covered and he has the chemistry and math covered, it is truly a team effort! Good luck and have fun with your little one!

My son has loved the color red from day 1!! He still does to this day except he adds black with it. Something else I would do is if I needed a card for a special occasion I held up each card I liked for him to see, the one I got the most reaction on is the one I bought. It worked like magic!! Everyone complimented me on the cards I sent them. And Christopher picked them each time. He is 20 now and about to be a father. I still take him to shop for cards. Babies know more then most people think.

My son has blue as his "favorite color".
If I took him shopping and we pass the soap/shampoo aisle, he always trying to reach the blue bottles. Same with on the cashier, he tried to grab the Rayovac batteries (those are blue too), but do nothing to a stack of duracel or energizer. He was 3 months then.
So maybe he does have a favorite color.

Thats a good question...i have always heard reds, blacks and whites are easiest to see in newborns. As for as they grow, i don't know. I never noticed my twins picking "favorite" colors until lately, and they are 2.5 years old. One will only drink from yellow or green sippy cups...its weird. Maybe babies do have favorites that early.

They sure do. My younger brother, as an infant, when offered his chain of colored plastic toy keys, always took it by grabbing the green key. A chain of colored balls he always picked up with the green ball. 40 years later green is still his favorite color.

I think so because my 2 month old infant always watches the hot pink toy in his mobile... he just wont see any other toy.
