When my daughter was 2, I would feed her before bedtime and then give her a sippy cup of water in the night. If she cries, let her cry,Tell her That other babies need the bottles and she is getting to be a big girl and little babies need her bottles because she has teeth now and she does not need them. Hide all the bottles so she does not see them in the cupboard when you open it. Fill the space with sippy cups,When you buy the cups show them to her and again explain it. If she takes a drink from a sippy cup get very excited about it and tell her how proud you are that she is such a big girl now! Be positive positive positive about it! It might take a week or 2 of her crying for the bottle but she will get over it. But don't back down and give in or all the progress is lost! When you go out in public and you see a girl of her age..point out that -that little girl does not have a bottle..ect. She will come around! Good luck!

Give her bottles to the bottle fairy. Put all her bottles into a box and wrap it up like a present. Leave it by her bedroom window and then when she goes to bed tell her that if she goes without it all night long, the bottle fairy will come take her bottles away and leave her a present. Buy her some "big girl" present and let her find it in the morning. Then every night remind her that the bottle fairy took her bottles for other babies that needed them so she can't have a bottle anymore. We did this with my daughter's pacifier and it worked beautifully. Good luck.

Many books on the topic suggest that you gradually put less milk in the bottle so eventually the child is weened off. Another suggestion is to mix water with the milk. For example, 7 oz. of milk with 1 oz of water, then 6 and 2, and so on, until the child is drinking all water. By that point, the appeal of the bottle in the middle of the night will be gone.

Your two year old daughter should be off the bottle. You are going to allow her to ruin her teeth. Stop spoiling her and take that bottle away from her. She might be attached to it, but you have to ween her off of it. You may consult with the pediatrician, but I'm sure you will find we are both telling the same thing. Your daughter will sleep all night when she is rid of her bottle. By the way, if she is still taking a pacifier you might want to throw that in the trash too. Same thing will happen to her teeth. Thank you.

Nothing wrong with that. Every kid is different. She may just need the extra comforting that it gives. If you can gradually reduce it from milk to water, then you can get it to the point where you can just put it within her reach so she can do it herself. Comforting a kid pays big dividends when they're older. They're more self-confident and more trusting.

Do not give it to her. I think that she is too old for a bottle especially at night time. Do you give her a bedtime snack?? That might help.
