Walking is the only safe way. But be sure to follow your Obstetrician's advice first.

Sexual intercourse - This works in two ways to induce labor. First, female orgasm can bring on contractions. Second, semen contains prostaglandins. Prostaglandins work to help ripe and soften the cervix.

Nipple stimulation - Stimulating the nipples triggers the production of natural oxytocin. Oxytocin contracts the uterus.

Accupressure - Accupressure may be helpful in inducing labor. Some pressure points you can try are the roof of your mouth, the webbing of your fingers between your pointer finger and thumb, and above the ankle about four fingerspaces above is a pressure point.

Stripping the membranes - This can only be done by a health care provider. Your doctor or midwife will seperate the bag of waters from your cervix and this is thought to help encourage labor to start.

Raspberry Leaf Tea - Rasberry leaf tea is not actually known for it's labor inducing properties, but it is believed to be helpful in toning the uterus and helping with labor.

Cinnamin stick tea - Take cinnamin sticks and boil them into a tea and drink. It actually tastes good so even if it doesn't bring on labor it may help you to relax.

Evening primrose oil - Evening primrose oil comes in small capsules similar to vitamin E. It is believed to help soften and ripen the cervix.

Walking - Walking may help to get baby to drop into proper position.

Visualization/relaxation - Relaxation can help with labor induction. Try doing relaxation exercisers. They are also good practice for when labor actually begins.

Pineapple, cumin tea, eggplant parmesan, and spicy foods - are another thing you can try.

You have two choices that your doctor will agree with.

1. Like said before, walking. As long as you are able and comfortable, taking short frequent walks is always a good thing. It helps stimulate the body and will assist in moving the baby into a better position.

2. Sex. Yes sex. As long as you are comfortable, by all means, do the deed. Not only will it prepare your body, but (if you allow for your partner to ejaculate inside of you) it aids in dialation. The kind of drugs you would get for induce labor you can get naturally from sex.

Ok. When I was about 37 weeks pregnant, I was SO tired of lugging that baby around. I did everything the books told me not to do.

I drank raspberry tea, drank almost a whole container of castor oil (all that got me was bowel aches), sex, spicy foods, anything!

Nothing Worked. Sperm can loosen up your cervix, but that helps best when you're already have contractions. Orgasm helps too, but again, mostly when you've started having contractions.

You can always talk to your doctor about a electrive induction, especially if your baby is getting large. Other wise, I'm really sorry but you'll just have to stick with it a little while longer!

Congrats and good luck!

I would say Raspberry Tea. But you can drink any Berry Drink. Berries are antioxidants that clean the body. From the inside like stomach, organs, bladder, etc . But sex and your fingers are the best way. I had a friend that used a hanger and it really worked just watch the baby's head. GOOD LUCK...

Induction of labour is done by giving the hormone oxytocin to the pregnant woman. but don't take it urself cuz it may cause early birth or abortion. Ask ur doc. If u wud need that, the doc'll give it himself.

I ate peppers and roast beef for one. Another pregnancy, I ate half a box of cinnamon teddy grahams and was in labor in 2 hours.

Raspberry tea, fresh cilantro, balsamic vinegar.
Scrubbing the kitchen floors on my hands & knees worked for me both times.

Please refer to the resolved question, "Castor Oil?". I answered that one a few days ago and the mom had her baby that very night after following that advice. Please remember, if you're not ready to go yet, that no matter what you do, that it might not work. If that happens, dont get discouraged, just wait a few more days and try again. If it does work, then your baby is ready to leave his/her nest.
