Pregnancy & Parenting - 13 November 2006

I went through a miscarriage on Saturday. The pain was horrendous on Saturday but I passed through it and now only get bouts of cramping with little bleeding. Some tissue is passing as well. My husband is still worried and wants to make sure everything is okay. I think I'll be fine.

If I feel that things are passing okay, do I really need to consult with my doctor? I just don't want to waste his time just for him to say "Take it easy and it should pass naturally."

By the way, I was 5w6d pregnant when miscarried, which is why I'm assuming I didn't bleed a lot.

He doesnt act liek my other 4 children. He thrown intense tantraums. When I call him he acts like he doesnt hear me. He stresses very easily. He gets excited easily. He does not follow directions. The teachers say he is real smart he just doesnt listen so I put him in Sylvan learning center to catch up . He has been there a year. He has only made a little progress. He is the middle child. I get frustrated with him but dont want to overreact cause I dont know what is going on with him. Any ideas??

I am almost 13 weeks pregnant, and keep having dreams about the baby. In my dreams it's always a boy. A friend of mine say's that means I'm having a girl. Anyone else been through this? Do you think it's a sign of some sort?

It was a boy and she gave birth to it. She goes to school 5 days a week and I work full time 5 days a week so here comes the wierd part. In her dream she has the baby and then goes back to school. I go to work. So this is the real weird part. She had these two big oak trees on each side of her driveway. She dreamt that every morning she would put the baby by the tree and go to school. Then she would come home and take the baby. Then one day her dad cut the tree down and there was no where to put the baby. And then she woke up. Does anyone know what the hell this means? I really want to have a baby with her and she is two days later so far on her time of the month. What does this all mean? Thanks for your help if you respond.

I have been feeling sick to my stomach now for two weeks. I havent gotten my period and I was suppose to start Friday but I didnt. Everytime I eat something or smoke a cig I feel really sick, i have been getting headachs everyday, I am really sleepy, my lower back is killing me and I pee alot. I took two pregnancy test last week but it came up neg. I dont have insurance to see my obgyn so thats out of the question. But im about to take another one but I really dont want to wast the money on a pregnancy test if im not. What would you do if you were me and do you think im pregnant?

I don't know what to do my 17 month old daughter puts everything and I mean everything in her mouth. It's so disgusting!!! I bring her to my work and anything she finds she'll put in her mouth. I don't know what to do. I've tried looking straight in her eyes and saying nicely please don't put anything in your mouth. I've tried plucking her mouth, saying a firm no, acting like I was sad because she was doing it but nothing is working. I've found the most disgusting things in her mouth, for example: dog hair from a dog that I don't know, paper off the floor that's been there forever. The thing is is she'll look right at me at put something in her mouth. I could be walking over to her to get whatever she has in her hand out but she'll scoop it in her mouth real quick. Please tell me what works. Please no silly comments.

My almost 3 year old is great going pee on the potty. Never has accidents anymore but when it comes to bowel movements it's a whole different story. Maybe once or twice a week she'll actually go poops on the potty, mostly she goes in her big girl panties. Anyone else dealing with this?? Advice??

Help! I have recently had a penis extension done so my wife would shut up about it. Anyway, I was on the bus home and I felt something fall down the inside of my trousers. Then I looked in horror to find my new bruised penis on the aisle. All the kids were pointing at me and laughing. Even the bus driver was which I think is disgraceful. Then just for them to make me feel even more embarrassed, this little ginger kid only had the nerve to pick it off the floor and kicked it to his friend who then headed it out of the bus window.

My wife is begging me to go back to the hospital but I feel terrified of getting back on that bus. Should I get another one?

I must have had like a breakdown or something. My daughter was born on Oct 27, she is my 3rd, I had my tubes tied. The day she turned 2 wks old, all I could do was cry. And it was only when there was nothing on my mind, and my Dr would pop into my head, and I'd cry & cry. My Dr delivered all 3 of my kids, and I've grown very fond of him, he's nice, polite, has a sense of humor.. he's just on overall nice guy, and I admit, I'll miss him. (No, I don't have a crush on him, we're both married) But WHY all the crying? I'm fine today, and was yesterday too. The only thing I can figure is I just had a little breakdown or something. I done nothing different, besides drink coffee all day (which I NEVER do)... any thoughts? I hope those days don't come back.

f the doctor couldnt find your babys hearbeat at what you thought was 8 weeks pregnant but they said the fetus is only the size of a 6 week and you have to go back in 10 days would you be concerned or could this be that the heart is undetectable at the moment?

I have been with this company for 4 months now and I am 5 months pregnant... which I did not know when I was hired. This is one of the best places I know for being an understanding type place- atleast what I can tell so far. They pay health insurance premiums 100%, I'm getting temporary disability during my maternity leave- 2/3 salary paid while I'm gone, and they seem to be very understandable with my doctor's appointments and such. I feel like they are doing so much for me already- but here's what I've been thinking.... I am diabetic and this is my third child. The first two came early, mostly from pushing myself too hard toward the end. The kind of work I do can be done from home with the proper computer programs and a decent computer / laptop. Would it be asking too much if I asked them to loan me a laptop and let me consult from home- starting like 4 weeks from my due date to the end of my leave? I'm afraid of being told no and being let down- need some input!! THANKS!

Ive read about differenty ways to induce labor. But the nipple stimulation seems a little more logical, but Im not quite sure exactly how to do it and for how long? Any suggestions?

My 14 y/o stepdaughter is very bright, does well in school but, when it comes to using common sense, she's a bit of a dink (I don't tell her that, it's just my way of describing). I could actually see her holding a glass of water and turning that wrist over to look at her watch and spilling the water on the ground. Is common sense inherit or learned? What can I do to help her gain some common sense without making her feel bad about herself.

Hi all,

My period is more than three weeks overdue - for the last four days my nipples are very sore and sensitive. About two weeks ago I was feeling pretty ill - dizzy, nauseos, faint etc. I feel better now but guess I'm still a bit tired.

I've taken two Home Pregnancy Tests and both have come up negative. I don't mind if I'm pregnant but the not knowing for sure is killing me!!

Any help or advice would be v much appreciated

Seriously? If someone today said that they were pregnant, as a virgin with the son of God, would you take her seriously? I know you wouldn't, so why do people pour so much faith into a lie that happened that long ago? Do you think people believed her then? I don't understand how people can be so naive!

My son came home from school Friday with all kinds of wicked cuts and bruises all over his back. When I asked him what happened he told me that his teacher had beat him with whips and chains because he used the bathroom on himself. I want to go up to the school and talk to the teacher about what she did to my child but I do not know if she did anything wrong because this is a good private school and beatings are allowed for discipline reasons. Should i talk to the teacher or just warn my son not to use the bathroom on himself anymore?

I'm a mother of three kids ages 6,3 & 10 months old ,I've never really heard "WHY" I can't feed honey to my youngest; is it b/c they could choke? or is it b/c of something else????I useually mix honey in thier oatmeal.
