Pregnancy & Parenting - 13 November 2006

My last period started on 12 sep, so thought I was 9 weeks pregnant today... but went for a dating scan yesterday and they say I am only 6 weeks pregnant...that doesn't fit in with any ovulation date (or even a few days either side) So how can this be?

They have booked my 12 week scan & bloods for down syndrome tests for 6 weeks time. But if I am further gone than they think won't I have missed the time that these bloods can be tested?

Which dates are right, mine or theirs? Could my baby just be small for its number of weeks or not? The did a tansvaginal scan

Any parents of girls around that age have any ideas? She's your typical girly girl...barbies lipgloss princesses... Looking for what's considered "hot" this year by girls in that age range (6 to 7).

Every time I change my newborn boy's nappy I notice a pinky red stain in where he has wee'd. I understand that newborns can pass urates, but I understood these to be more yellowy orange. To be honest, it looks like blood. I will be getting this checked out by my midwife today, but if anyone has any useful or professional experience of this then I would appreciate your input.

I am on birth control and have been for two years and i'm on the shot. I want to change birth control because i been have headaches and cramps when i don't have my period. I want to change to the pills because i think that my headaches might go away if i change birth control. but my sister tells me to get off of birth control for a little while and let myself clean the birth control out of my body. What do you think i should do?

get his hair cut? he keeps telling me he doesnt want it cut because its winter and he will get it cut when the weather warms up again. is this normal? his hair is now getting very messy and i am starting to get embarrassed being seen with him. should i tie him to a chair and give him a scalping? what do i do?

the day before i had some slight pain below my abdomen on the right side for a few hours. i searched sites and most of what i could find was stuff saying ectopic pregnancies. but i guess that usually coincides with bleeding discharge. and i had no blood. the next day, today, i woke up with no morning sickness. no nausea. nothing. i just don't feel pregnant now. i'm now 10 weeks and paranoid that something bad happened. i doubt morning sickness dissipates within a day. could it just be the uterus expanding?

I have an IUD, (sence 9/18/06) And had my follow up on 10/31 and my husband and I had sex that night. I am now having the same symptoms that I did when I got pregnant with my son. My nipples hurt(but i am breast feeding so that could be the answer to that), and I had a desert piza tonite and it tasted like lettuce mixed with grass and the bread stickees tasted like garlic cinimon. I also had 2 wine coolers and in 1 hour i peed 5 or more times, this same exact stuff was happening to me when we found out I was pregnant last time. I know the chance of getting pregnant with an IUD is less the 1% so what could cause the symptoms...I dont know when my last peroid technically would be because i have been bleeding sence they put the IUD in in September. So I did an online Due date calculator with the approximate conception day as 10/31 and it said I would be 4 weeks today. im scared my son is only 4 months old. I'm worrid durring the check of the IUD something happened, like it got moved.

its lasting from the minute i wake up to the time i go to bed, everything i eat or drink i bring up and as a result i have no energy and i am getting dizzy.
can the dr give me anything for it?
and also, i work as a school cleaner and its impossible to do my job just now as all the hard work is making me worse, would the dr sign me off?

I seen a person that was pregnant too that had the same problem...does anyone else know why that is?It is an obsession and i constantly crave the smell.Could it be a sign of a vitamin deficency or something to that effect.It only happens in my last trimester.i do have Gestational Diabetis could this be the cause or effect of this?

My other two kids never wanted to sleep in the same bed let alone the same room..I even went out and got her and her sister a bunk bed set and she would be on the bottom bunk. Got the sides so she can't fall out...I've tried putting her in it after she has fallen asleep, but by morning she's in bed with me...I have 3 kids total and I spend all my time with them xcept when they are sleepn - cause I need a break from time to time...Just wantting some idea's to try so if you all don't mind can you help me out? DO you think the goverment should mandate companys to offer paid maternity leave for women? Some company's do, but not very many, I know the company I work for offers maternity leave but it is unpaid and it is hard on the new mom and family to not work. But who would foot the bill? The company or the goverment which would be a new tax for us? And I know it is hard to find safe and affordable daycare now adays also and being a stay at home parent for many isn't an option. and how long do you think the Leave should be for if it is paid?

I am 37 weeks pregnant and about 2 months ago my husband and i took in a kitty, we named Mooch, mainly b/c of me. We both take turns feeding her. I am mainly the one that loves on her and my husband is the one who rough plays with her the most, although my husband does love on her too. My husband disiplines her the most. We both feed and water her and we both give her treats although the hubby probably gives her more treats more often than I do. Here the past couple of days the Mooch kitty has taken a disinterest in me and she has attack me twice today, one time scratching my leg, but I think this is by accident. Do you think she knows something we don't, like maybe the baby is coming soon? Has anyone experienced something like this with thier animal while pregnant?
