My daughter has a major spit up issue, she spits up at least 1/4 sometimes 1/2 of her bottle after almost every feeding. I heard that switching to soy formula would help. My neice and my 2 nephews were both on soy when they were infants. Would it be a good idea to try it.

he has not shown much of an interest in solids at all. He is healthy and thriving (35 lbs!! and off the charts in both length and weight). But I was just curious how many mothers out there have experienced this as well? Any long-term exclusively breastfeeding Moms out there whose babies took a while to show interest in food?

What are the effects, if any, on the child? Do they differ between taking them early in pregnancy as opposed to later?

Greetings,

Some mummy friends and I are brainstorming ideas to begin some Christmas traditions with 1 year olds. Something(s) that will be do-able each year (anything too complicated/time/labor intensive will just wind up being stressful someday). . . .we would love to hear any ideas from your childhood/your lives now/ideas for the future. . .

We've already considered the traditional ideas...a new Christmas ornament every year, reading a special story, baking cookinge, deocorating ginger bread houses, picture taking, caroling, etc.

Seeking your unique take or something altogether different, fun and memorable.

Tx-in-advance....Happy Holidays!

I am just really impatient. I am not looking for answers from people telling me to call the doc....i just want some answers from experienced moms. Just wondering what to expect.
I think I lost my plug in the shower yesterday, i had a handful of mucus discharge, but it wasnt pink, or bloody. I was induced with my other 2 pregancies...so they were scheduled... this one, i am feeling the cramps, lost the plug ( i think) and i just want this pregnancy over. I am going nuts not knowing the exact time to expect this baby ( im a "planner") so i was just wondering from other woman, what could i expect....is labor next...or should i just relax...will it be a few more weeks?

i should tell you i am 2 cm dilated, 3rd baby in 3 years...37 weeks pregnant
AGAIN....no smart *** answers please..

I have tried the conventional methods so to speak... giving her teething rings, tried a small piece of ice wrapped in a washcloth for her to chew on... right now, Im wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to help her sleep better at nighttime. I know that this isn't going to last forever, but since my husband is in the military and me being a new mom we do need enough sleep. I know that teething is going to bother her, but is there anyway to ease the pain for her while she is sleeping?

I'm 6 months pregnant and I'm lactating like CRAZY. When I started, some almost clear stuff was coming out, it was an offcolor and people told me to SAVE that stuff, to freeze it for when the baby comes because it's very important. I REALLY am not going to breast feed, I work 12 hour days and my bf stays at home and cares for the house, with my corporate title, I cannot breastfeed the baby when it comes... can I? I have no idea to go about this, but all I know is that I'm the money maker, so there's no way I can stay at home for more than the first couple of weeks after my childbirth. Is there any way that I could milk my boobs so he can feed the baby while I'm at work? I know nothing about this, I'm not the maternal type and no one I know really has kids, so I'm asking out. And that premilk I saved in the freezer, is it any good now that I froze it? Real answers please, I don't like jokes when it comes to important matters like this. (Yeah, and I'm aware I have joke questions!)

It is 12am now. I just got done completely cleaning the kitchen and picking up the liveingroom. Most of the mess was my 2, 5, and 7 year olds. I get on them about cleaning their messes up but they do not get it. I can show them how, throw the things away, or ground them from what they want to do if they are not helping pick up. How can I get them to help effectively?

Why is it every time I turn around people are putting down teens having babies? I mean for one how the heck do you even know how they got pregnant? They could of been raped, BC failed or condom broke but most people assume they did it on purpose and they love to assume they drop out and were on welfare.

Some parents on here say if their teen were ever to get pregnant they would force them to abort or do adoption but here is a fun fact, by law if a teen gets pregnant she can make the decision on weather to keep her baby or give it up.

I was 16 when I got pregnant due to BC failing and I new right away I was keeping my baby and the first person in my family to know was my moms sister in law and her brother who is a cop happen to be their and told me by law my parents could do nothing more then kick me out, they had no say in what happened to my baby and that I basically became an adult.

I am now 19 and in college, never been on welfare and drive a $4,000 mustang convertible.

I have two children who will need to be watched for me to attend school. They have never had any babysitters besides family. This is not a option though for this. So I need to find out what are the best places for child care. Like daycare facilities, in-home or babysitter at your house and how is the best way to find good care takers. I am worried about making sure it is someone responsible and caring. Also I have looked into facilities that unless your children go full time. It is very expensive per hour and I am only needing a couple half days per week. Thank you for any advice.

I was just curious (and really bored right now).
If my baby, 6mo, mostly sucks his left thumb & reaches for things mostly with his left hand is it most likely that he will be left-handed? My husband was suppose to be left-handed, but a teacher forced him to write with his right hand & his mom did nothing to stop her. Now he's 37yo and can't even read his own handwriting. Wouldn't that affect the brain? Isn't the left hand controlled by the right side of the brain & vice-versa?
Thanks for answering & giving me something to read. Hope you're having a good night! :-)

My daughter is 5 years old and in Kindergarden for the first time. She is coming home from school saying that no one will play with her and that she has to play by herself at recess. This breaks my heart. I also have a n 8 year old who is very "popular" with all of the kids. My 5 year old is a little on the heavy side but not much. She is very frendly so I dont know what to do to help her from feeling so left out at school. any suggestions would be great. Thanks

My 5 year old niece came home from school crying and upset. She said that a bunch of the older kids surrounded her and called her a bunch of mean names and pushed her around. My sister is handling this situation all wrong in my opinion. She tells her that she better not let those girls beat her up or else she will come up to the school and beat her up in front of these mean children. My niece has told me that she is going to take her dads stun gun to school to kill these girls because she is so afraid for her life. Is there anything that I should say or do or should I just mind my own business and let her get this as tough love.

I've had two kids prior, and I've never showed signs within 2 weeks. With my son it was over a month and I don't remember what it was with my daughter. If I am pregnant now it would only be by 2 weeks but I've been having symptoms for about 4 or 5 days now. I'm weak, puking, sweating.. all the signs I had with my other kids. So, what's the earliest you showed signs?
