Not much during pregnancy. I talked to my ob/gyn about this. He said that sometimes the baby has "withdrawal" symptoms when they are born. Like they might be a little more irritable than normal. And there is no difference between taking them in early pregnany / later in pregnancy. (This is what he said about Zoloft)

That depends on who you ask! My first two pregnancies were fine and both babies came out at 39 weeks. Of course- I wasn't on anti-depressants with them! Now my third child is a different story. I was told it was okay to take the anti-depressant I was on while I was pregnant with daughter. They said there would be no complications with the pregnancy or with the baby. Well, I ended up having a premiee! She was born at 28 weeks and weighed 3 lbs 1 oz. I didn't think much of this until I started to talk to OTHER premiee parents and they were on anti-depressants as well when they had their child. There is NO scientific proof that it can harm a baby- but I can tell you that parents that have had premiee's and were on the anti-depressants feel otherwise. Just be careful!

I am nine a million/two weeks pregnant and was once not too long ago on Zoloft. I have had two earlier miscarriages. My Psychiatrist advised me that he did not desire to take a risk being on an anti depressant for the period of being pregnant. He as lo acknowledged that once you're pregnant that your hormones are on a upward thrust. And that you do not have to be on an anti-depressant whilst pregnant. Almost like nature takes its path. However he did say that as quickly because the beginning of the little one I had to be placed again on, for the worry postpartum despair. However, for the reason that your trouble I could surely speak in your healthcare professional. There is not any clinical evidence that Zoloft can intent damage to the little one, nevertheless they inspiration the identical factor approximately Prozac and paxil and it has not too long ago pop out that it may have an effect on a being pregnant. Talk in your OB after which see a psychiatrist approximately cure.. You would additionally take a look at counseling???

Well, some of those can be classified in different categories (like, class a, b, c, something like that) and they all have different effects. The best way to find out what the certain drug effect will be on the child, call the pharmacy and speak to a qualified pharmacist and ask them, and they can look up in their books.
Also make sure your doctor knows so they can adjust your meds for ya.

you need to research it. My doc tried to give them to me ealry in my pregnancy.... there are 5 stages of antidepressants.... A-E...A & B are safe to take, but the risks get higher if you take a group C or D...which your doc probably didnt prescribe. There isnt enough research to support if it hamrs the child or not, but studies have shown that kids progress the same as ones whose mom didt take anti depressants. I understand you sceptisism though. I was scared... i never did take them thoguh, i just made sure i took my pre natals, and i felt better in a day!!! (my sis suggested i just try my vitamins, cause maybe i was just low on IRON or something...and it worked)
