I think i was misunderstood. I dont want to get pregnant again, but ive heard of people who got pregnant while on the shot, so I was wondering if thats true, and if i should try something else.

it can actually make pregnancy harder to achieve even up to a few years getting off it. IT WILL NOT MAKE YOU FERTILE. It can damage fertility thou. i had two kids went on depo for 1 year after depo i never had a regular cycle again i was off 2 years had to go on fertility meds to get pregnant but miscarried now 6 YEARS AFTER my last shot i got pregnant without fertility meds!. The soonest i've heard of anyone I KNOW getting pregnant was 8 months after being off depo. BUT nothing is 100% if you don't want pregnant use conoms also DON'T SKIP SHOTS. DON'T KNOW A SINGLE SOUL who got pregnant on the shot in fact i'ld say they were a liar it they said they did.

Actually depo has the lowest rate of getting women pregnant as compared to other birth control methods. Depo actually stops any eggs from being produced, therefore there is no need for your body to flush anything away, and hence you have no periods. I was on depo for 2 years, which is the max you can be on it due to loss in bone density. It took a while afterwards for my periods to become regular again, but there have been no problems in getting pregnant, since I stopped it about a year ago and am now 14 weeks preggo! Ask your doctor for an information book on depo, it explains everything clearly! Also there are many websites with the same information.

It is not common to fall pregnant whilst on the depo, but in my case the depo wasn't working for me. After a year of having the shots I travelled overseas and fell ill. When I returned I went to my doctor and found out I was 5 months pregnant. My son is now a very healthy 3 yr old. It is not 100% safe, as every woman varies. I would suggest using other precautions if you are certain you do not want children at present. I don't regret having my son one little bit, and have a second child due in 8 weeks. Best of luck.

No it is not true I've been using depo for years and I never got pregnant using Depo, but it is hard to (get) pregnant using depo. You have to wait a year from the date you started using depo in order for it to get out of your system so you can get pregnant.

From what I've heard from my friends, it is very hard to get pregnant on the depo shot.

I have a friend who was on depo. She said her physician said it takes about a year for the hormones to exit the system. This is because it is a strong dose of hormone (it has to prevent pregnancy for up to 4 months). However, this doesn't mean to not use another form of contraceptive if you've decided to not get your shots anymore (unless you're trying for a baby).

no it is very hard
be careful with the depo it is very bad for your bone density levels, do not take it for more than a year or two.or you will have a good chance of osteoporosis. take calcium with vit d everyday.
when i was on depo it made me so hungry all the time i gained 20 lbs in 6 months..then i said screw this!!
