I would just like to say that I live in the UK and names over here tend to be different from American names

Archie is good - not at all chavvy
Not too sure about Daisy - it does sound cute but I'm sure most people think about cows when they hear the name. And will it work when she is 18?

Like all names, you will always have people liking and not liking them. A lot of opinions are based on previous experience - for example, an old class mate called Archie may have been an arrogant bully or perhaps a generous, funny guy etc..

The good news is that if you do get it wrong, people only really have an opinion when they first hear the name. After that all references to a person are outweighed by the experience of the actual person.
So once your friends and family have met Archie/Daisy, they won't really care about whether they like the name.
Which means, ultimately, that if you like the names, choose them..... forget everyone else..

I use to know a feller named Archie and he was an asshole, so I don't like it. Daisy on the other hand is fairly common with the older generation here in Kentucky and I like it.

these names are the diminutive forms of Archibald and I believe Daisy is a nickname for Margaret from the flower Margaruite. I think babies should be given the full name rather than the shortened version at least on the birth certificate. Although the names sound cute for a baby, I don't think a teenager would thank you. These names are certainly not chavie, but my advice is to think again.

All the Archie's I have ever known have been brats! And it seem to be a very common name. I think Daisy is really cute, not chav at all.

I do not like the name "Archie" AT ALL!!! It sounds like a Dog's name,if fact ,now I know why it sounds like one: b/c it is one. If you ever had kids b 4 did they ever watch this show either on Nick jr or Noggin thats called MAGGIE AND THE FERROSIOUS BEAST? There is in a few episodes ,this one black scotty dog that barks all the time and his name is "Archie".
The name "Archie " also sounds like a f*g name.
But naming a GIRL baby "Daisy"on the other hand is pretty.I have a cousin named Daisy. Daisy is pretty.

You can find out exactly how common or unusual they are by going to:
http://www.statistics.gov.uk/specials/babiesnames_girls.asp
and
http://www.statistics.gov.uk/specials/babiesnames_girls.asp

This gives official UK statistics for the 100 most popular girls and boys for the last 5 years.

I think they are both cute names, although while Daisy is very cute for a little girl, it might sound a bit odd on a moody teenager!!

I have a niece called Daisy and know another Daisy, its a very cute name and not chav at all.

Don't know any Archie's but its also a great name - I think those old traditional names are really cool.

I really like them both.
