My almost 3 year old is great going pee on the potty. Never has accidents anymore but when it comes to bowel movements it's a whole different story. Maybe once or twice a week she'll actually go poops on the potty, mostly she goes in her big girl panties. Anyone else dealing with this?? Advice??

My sister went through hell trying to get my nephew to go #2 in his potty. She finally divised a system. she put a chart on the wall. and every time he'd go #2 in the potty she'd put a sticker on it, and every time he had an accident she'd take one away. after he got I think 10 stickers he got to pick a prize out of some dollar store toys she had left over from a bday party.
after about 2 weeks he was accident free.
My co-worker did similar. but she just told her daughter that if she went 2 weeks without accidents that they'd have a party. and they did.

You can purchase a potty seat he can use at the grownup potty, or you'll make him use the youngster. Either method you can traditionally have got to keep in the toilet with him till he is going for the primary few months of potty coaching. Don't assume him to be capable to move in there and maintain it himself. Grab a booklet and plant your self till he is going. Don't make it demanding. You can present a present of a few form if he makes use of both potty (like 2 m&m's). Be sufferer even though he is not and do not fear. Training takes time.

Nothing but time can cure this problem. She will eventually be doing all her business int he potty! I think it's a little harder for them to recognize the urge to go number 2.
Keep reassuring her, remind her every time that the potty is where to go. Don't let her feel embarrassed, or get upset with her. That can cause her to revert all together.
Be patient, Mom! She will get there soon!

You're doing a great job...sometimes they just don't have the muscle control yet for bowel movements...My son...will tell me he has to poop..he's almost 3..so I run him to the potty chair...to find...he wasn't telling me he HAD to go...but that HE HAD gone!! Just take the poop and plop it into the toilet and show her it needs to go there. We drive past the sewage plant and my sons both say "that's where our pee and poop go" and every time Joey (almost 3) goes..he says "go home pee pee"..but pooping...still in his diaper... YUCK!!

My son had the exact opposite, he would poop in the toilet and pee in his underwear. We just really amped up the "celebration" afterwards with a ton of praise and "you're such a big boy" and stuff like that...on top of a cookie or favorite treat. It took some time but this strategy really worked wonders!

funny how kids are so different. my son goes poop on the potty no problem, but always gets to the potty to late to pee. It is easier to tell when they are about to poo at least with mine, so it is easier to stick him on the pot.

i when through this with both my children and i would say leave her do a poo in the potty in her own time.

if you remove the panties and she goes poo she will feel the poo coming down her legs and she will ask for the potty and yes had that sme situation
