Depending on the teen.
Some teens have the "i'm invincible, never gonna happen to me" attitude. Other teens just live in household where sex is a Taboo discussion and don't know the risks and go ahead and do it. They are poorly educated.
And then sometimes, it is just like EVERYBODY ELSE, who got caught up in the moment and had no protection. There are plenty of ADULTS out there who think it's "ok" to have unprotected sex as well. Not just teens.

Because they think it'll never happen to them. It always happens to someone else. They need to wake up and realize that their actions have consequences. Life long ones, whether it's an unwanted pregnancy or an STD. Many teens, (not all mind you, most are pretty smart), but many just think they are (like the one above me said) invincible.

Because teenagers don't really believe that anything bad can ever happen to them. You can tell them all the statistics about STD's and teen pregnancy, but deep down they think that stuff like that only happens to other people and will never happen to them.

unprotected wut? Sex? If that is wut ure referring to, it is because the idea of becoming preganant or impreganting someone doesnt cross their mind- part of the whole "THAT can never happen to ME" mentality. They live in dreams and dreams are broken.
