I went through a miscarriage on Saturday. The pain was horrendous on Saturday but I passed through it and now only get bouts of cramping with little bleeding. Some tissue is passing as well. My husband is still worried and wants to make sure everything is okay. I think I'll be fine.

If I feel that things are passing okay, do I really need to consult with my doctor? I just don't want to waste his time just for him to say "Take it easy and it should pass naturally."

By the way, I was 5w6d pregnant when miscarried, which is why I'm assuming I didn't bleed a lot.

I would check with the doctor just to be sure, for your health and safety.

It's always better safe than sorry! I had a miscarriage at 8 wks and I was bleeding and passing tissue I didn't want to go in either because of what I just went thru but I was coerced into going and good thing I did. Apparently I was bleeding too much and they had to go in and burn the inside of me because of the heavy bleeding and tissue passing. So it's always better safe than sorry!

Yes, it is URGENT and imperative that you see a doctor immediately - because tissue stays inside when you have a miscarriage and you can have all sorts of complications including infections which may make you unable to have children in the future, you may be very sick in the future and you can die from complications. Also, if tissue is allowed to stay in the uterus you can get cancer later too.

Of COURSE you need to see your doctor!! He needs to document the miscarriage in order to help prevent a future one! You may very well need a D & C but without an exam it is impossible to tell if "everything has passed" through as you say. Be smart, protect your health and that of any future babies!!

Did you see a doctor in the first place to confirm the miscarriage? If not, then yes, you need to see your doctor and soon .

Just call and talk to the nurse to make sure you are doing the right thing and she would then advise you to make an appt or just let it pass. Sorry for your loss!
