She makes snarky comments about him having little scratches on his fingers from digging in the dirt; she changes his haircut; she makes cutesy baby-talk to him - he's three; she sniffs at me when my porch is untidy; she changes his clothes the minute she gets hold of him; she says in a sing-song voice, Time to kiss mummy goodbye!; she comments tidily on how he eats EVERYTHING when he's at Daddy's house, while he's a bit picky with food for me; she doesn't tell me important things about his behaviour when he's with her. I know I am grateful that he is being well-cared-for at Daddy's house; but the woman drives me nuts. She always makes me feel like an inferior mother. Do other mothers feel this way about their kids' step-parents?

And yes, I am always very positive when I talk about her with my son, I know how important that is. But am I the only one here?

My husband and I have been married for 4 years. I'm 24 and my husband is 32. We have no children yet but we do want to start a family. We have waited because I wanted to finish college first. I will graduate with my bachelors degree in May.

My husband and I were thinking about starting a family soon. If I got pregnant today I would still graduate college 2 months before the baby was born.

We are having a hard time becasue my family won't butt out. My mom is constantly telling me I am too young and we should wait a few more years before starting a family. She thinks I should be well established in my career first.

I don't know what to do. I don't want to have to hear it from my mom or family if I get pregnant but then again my husband really wants a baby. He wants a baby while he is still in his early 30's. I'm neutral. Honestly what would you do?? Would you wait? Is it going to be harder to start a career if I have a baby?

Im pregnant and am having my baby in 2 to 3 weeks... I work the night shift at a print shop and have very long hours.. 12 hour shift. The one other night girl is in school so she had set the schedule around her school schedule, working her less than me... im the only backup.. but now I need the break that shes getting.. example is that I work 6 days 12 hours a night and I only have one day in the middle splitting it up.. Im trying to get everything together but Im always at work.. Should I ask for some slack or just deal with it?

There is this one game that students play at my school called zap. Someone writes a name on your hand and a time. You are expected to ask that person out on a date by the time written. I usually don't participate, but a couple of my friends do and I think one guy is going to ask me out. How do I figure out whether he's gonna ask me because of the zap or because he really likes me? (He's kinda rude to me and I don't really know him at all. I used to know one of his friends really well, but I got mad at him because I liked him but he started dating this one girl I don't like and now he's kinda being manipulative so I'll be interested. When my friends say hi to him, he acts really badly and completly ignores us; especially around his gf. I'm still afraid to talk to him because of his new gf. I have an odd feeling though that the original guy is not gonna ask me out now though because I kinda gave the signal that I wouldn't go out with him.)

There will never be a day that I cant yell at my eldest daughter, shes just 5 years old and I feel like I'm leaving her behind and neglecting her. I also have a 1 year old and I don't have any problem when it comes to the relationship of the kids. The big sister is actually very protective about her baby sister and loves her so much. It's not just me who gets to scould her but so as my hubby which is not really his biological dad. Is it just because kids at this age are can really be irritating or am I missing something big here. I need intervention. I don't want her to grow up not liking me and his dad at all. I really try my best but it seems like I need to do a lot more

Today has been a really rough day for us. We've just found out my husband will be serving a second deployment to Iraq. Not only that but my cousin (who lives with us and has been for the past two years) has now convinced his class that he gets multiple birthday parties and has invited them over. He was born on 9/9/01--two days before 9/11. This year we had a birthday party for him and then we had a party to honor those lives lost and those serving for the events that happened on September 11th. He now believes that they were both for him. I explained to him that on 9/11 people died for a very sad reason. I've explained to him that Tio (my husband) has to go to war during his last deployment. He is five years old and now asking a lot of questions. I don't know how to deal with it! I don't know how to explain. How do you explain war and death to a five year old? How can we do this without scaring him? Any advice is appreciated!

i took multiple pregnancy tests in the past to make sure i was really pregnant & when all of them came up positive i decided that i was. last week i made an appointment to get an abortion & when i went in today to get it they found no baby. they told me i was never pregnant. they didn't seem to give me a very good answer on why my pregnancy tests came up positive or why i had no periods the past few months. can any one help?

My husband & I had chosen the name Kate if we have a girl (due in 3 months), but his boss and his wife just had a baby in July and named her Kate. We are not particulary close to them, but would it be weird if we used that name too? They work closely every day together (my husband and his boss).

Since the 3rd day of school my daughter has been comming home complaining that a little boy has been spitting in her face. I told her to let the teachers know, after a month of this & no resolve (he now coughs in her face too) I said somrthing, they said they are trying to distract him, which I didn't understand. So today I pick up my daughter & she is crying, the teacher tells me her & a boy (doesn't tell me the name) were teasing eachother & her homework for the weekend is to think of 3 nice things she can say about the boy & tell the entire class. So I talk to my daughter & it is the same boy! He spit in her & her friends face & she wrongly told him to quit or he could not go to school & called him a freak, so I disaplined her. But why is my daughter being disaplined @ school & not him. My huuby wants to put her in a diffrent preschool since she now dreeds going to school, but I don't know if that will just teach her to run from her problems. PLEASE HELP, what shopuld I do?

I can tell you i know what a child can bring you. I have a 5 year old son and i love him so much and do not ever regret having him but i wasn't a teenager when i had him.

I think abortion is a choice that all women have.

If there were something bad wrong with the baby and would suffer a horrible life and death then yes i would have an abortion.

If my life were in danger because of the baby then yes i would have an abortion because i wouldn't want to leave my son motherless.

If i were raped then yes i would have an abortion.

I just think people shouldn't judge the ones that get or want abortion cause until you walk a mile in their shoes then how can you say you don't know how they feel/felt to have to choose?

About a week and a half ago I had an abdominal CT scan. My doc called me today to tell me I was pregnant. I believe I'm approximately 2-5 weeks. Making me anywhere between 1/2 week to 3.5 weeks pregnant during the scan. Will my baby be okay?

My husband is the only one who works. I am a full time student. I can't get insurance because of my pre-existing conditions. With just his income, we would qualify for Pregnancy Medicaid. But, my dad passed away in December, and the money I get from his life insurance puts us over the limit. What other options do I have to pay for a pregnancy. Due to my health, mostly in part to my pre-existing conditions, we know I will have complications & have to have a C-Section. We are ready to have children, but don't seem to have any options on paying for the medical part of it. Any advice? Please, we are desperate for answers.

I stopped breastfeeding my son when he was 4 weeks old bc his doctor suggested he had a sensitivity to lactose. After a couple of bad visits we switched doctors and were told that regular formula/breastmilk would have been alright this whole time. I know it would be confusing for him to latch on again, but I would like to pump breast milk for him to drink from a bottle, even if it is just a couple of ounces mixed with formula. My breast still leak every now and then, and if they are squeezed milk is expressed. Do you think it is possible to pump again after all this time?
