Im pregnant and am having my baby in 2 to 3 weeks... I work the night shift at a print shop and have very long hours.. 12 hour shift. The one other night girl is in school so she had set the schedule around her school schedule, working her less than me... im the only backup.. but now I need the break that shes getting.. example is that I work 6 days 12 hours a night and I only have one day in the middle splitting it up.. Im trying to get everything together but Im always at work.. Should I ask for some slack or just deal with it?

wow that's icky I was in the military when I had my baby and I worked incredible hours but I felt healthy enough to do so I worked on the day I went into labor and I worked late the truth is only you know your body if you truly need a break then talk to your boss you are obviously pregnant if you need a break then you need a break. medically you are a priority and if you have a good boss they should see it that way as well people never questioned me because I always felt fine except in the beginning but that's a different story but they may not be giving you slack because they may be thinking you are doing OK they don't know what you don't tell them

Is this a print shop chain or individual business? Either way there are labor laws and you need to think about your health and the health of the baby. Consult the labor laws where you live and find out your rights.

If your boss is reasonable, you should just discuss it with him. You also have rights under the Family and Medical Leave act which you should be aware of.
Your boss needs to find a solution while you are away anyway, so he might as well start to find a temporary replacement now.

R U KIDDING ME?
Yes, yes, & yes. You are pregnant for crying out loud. That boss of yours should have given you a break a long time ago without you saying anything- its the decent thing to do. So my answer is YES!

At 15 you're far too youthful to be caught in a job which you hate...this might basically serve to depress you & make you careful of working sooner or later so forget approximately approximately anybody who tells you to suck it up & get the hell out of there ASAP! Now, to date as giving be conscious, i've got self belief you're Aussie (based on the point out of Aboriginal purchasers) so which you're basically obliged to grant formal be conscious notwithstanding if it is on your employment contract/grant or you're a permenant (no longer informal) worker. to date as i will see there are 2 procedures of doing this: a million. while she calls tell her flat out which you think of she is impolite & unprofessional & to no longer worry calling you returned given which you does no longer artwork for her returned if she became the final corporation on earth. this might basically fly once you're an off-the-cuff worker & basically do it in case you do no longer care what she says approximately you to each physique on the city. 2. style up a known letter that announces expensive [Recipient's call]: thank you for the prospect to artwork at [corporation call]. I even have discovered lots for the time of my time short right here. i'm approximately to start year 10 & my college certificates so my college commitments could take precedence. This letter is to formally announce my resignation from [corporation call], beginning immediately. My final day would be [2 weeks from immediately]. Please enable me comprehend what i will do to make my very final time right here a efficient journey. Regards, [Your Signature] I recommend using decision 2 because it leaves the door open for destiny artwork (you on no account comprehend, the large boss could come to a decision that her daughter is a criminal duty) & you additionally can nevertheless use them as a reference later on down the music!!!!!

My answer is " Bosses don't cut slack. They cut fa*ts." Now, if the toad is your boss's brat I have good news. Your days in the print shop is over.

You need to be assertive for your health and your baby. You must ask. you may even go to your Dr and have her write a note for you saying you need the bed rest, then he has to let you off and can NOT fire you for it good luck

I suggest you have your doctor write a note for your employer stating you NEED to rearrange your schedule to accomodate your pregnancy for your HEALTH. That way you won't have to say anything much.
