Your case is that of 'blighted ovum'. The term blighted ovum refers to a fertilized egg (ovum) that has developed a placenta and membrane but no embryo. Blighted ovum is thought to be due to a chromosomal abnormality. Over 60 percent of all first-trimester pregnancy losses are due to chromosomal abnormalities unique to that pregnancy -- meaning that these are one-time events that do not raise the risk of similar future problems. Usually the chromosomal abnormality lies in the individual egg; sperm chromosomal anomalies are infrequent. Other chromosomal problems may also arise if something goes awry genetically during the first few cell divisions of the newly formed embryo. It raises the level of hCG (whatever that is) that gives the positive pregnancy test but then there is no baby. That apart I too believe that if you don't want a baby, take more precautions and avoid abortions.

Whether or not your pregnancy tests were incorrect I can't guess about, but it is possible to become pregnant, have positive tests for a while, but then have the fetus not develop. You can actually have a sac and placenta but no baby. Apparently, the embryo or fetus dies and is reabsorbed. After a while the pregnancy test will turn negative again even if this bad pregnancy has been aborted (either involuntarily or by doctors).
When this goes on and the "pregnancy" doesn't come out on its own it is called a "missed abortion" or "missed miscarriage". If it happens early enough that the fetus never really developed much it is most likely caused by a blighted ovum (there was just something wrong right from the start and things didn't develop correctly).
I don't know why the people didn't tell you this, unless its not what your situation was Is there a chance that you misunderstood what they said? You may want to call them back and ask if this was your situation.

The doctor you went to didnt give you a blood test first??? And they actually tried to do that kind of procedure??? Or did they actually just check you inside by feeling or what not. Pregnancy tests can be wrong sometimes but if your doctor didnt give you a blood test thats just plain strange or at least give you a urine in their office. I would go to another doctor and explain this whole situation and I am sure you will get the answers you are looking for.

You should get on the pill (birth control) if you don't want to get pregnant, you shouldn't have abortions. It will mess up your whole body and it isn't fair to the baby if you are pregnant. The over the countier tests aren't full proof, and probably your body can't carry a pregnancy if you keep messing up your body in the first place. Take control of your body if necessary get help,.if you need too. Go for conciling. You are worth more than that.

Are you a small person? Often if you are one of the "lightweights", your periods will stop for a while. Also, if you have been on the pill for quite a while, your periods will stop and it will take a while for them to start again. I don't know what happened with the pregnancy tests but I hope this answer helps you.

if you missed your period and have had pregnancy symptoms i would just go see another doctor, get a second opinion...the tests could have been wrong...but it never hurts to get it checked out...otherwise, if you're not pregnant then that's good...at least you don't have to go through the emotional and physical trauma of an abortion...
but yeah. i'd get another opinion for sure!
hope i was of some help.
good luck.

you probably had a chemical pregnancy (google it). Not sure why you think that "went wrong" if you were planning on having an abortion anyway. consider it a good thing that you werent pregnant.

Hmmm...in keeping with possibility we're not as on top of problems with issues as we expect of. I examine this religious text textile as quickly as that asserts "Human issues are no longer solved via human movements." So what if issues are merely fated to be? now and back it extremely is nice, now and back it extremely is undesirable. in keeping with possibility using fact we are so busy in our heads attempting to parent issues out and make issues happen that we expect of we are the reason for the result as quickly as we're not. Hmmm...that extremely might clarify the way you ought to doubt your self on something lots and nonetheless have a marvelous 2d that reinforces your ego in some unspecified time interior the destiny. i do unlike the place this is going. i'm certainly enormous on manifesting one's needs. i think of i could be fairly disillusioned if i found out that each and every thing I artwork so difficult to make happen became going to happen besides regardless of if I had merely stayed on the settee. ;D
