My health visitor tends to interfere too much in how I care for my daughter. I would prefer not for her to work with us. I do not want another health visitor. Can I refuse?

I had picked out the name Makayla for a girl but my cousin just had her baby Friday & named hers Makayla. My husband & I were very partial to this name being that my husband's name is Michael. We've had that name picked out for a good while. I hadn't told my cousin I liked that name because I hardly see her & we aren't close anymore. Should I still use it?
I just don't want my dad's family to think I copied when I didn't & they are the type of family that likes to talk crap!
What are some good names that go with Alliyah or Alyssa?
For boy names we like Jayden Scott or Ryan Scott, what do you think?

My best friend is a guy. He's had girlfriends, but I've never had a boyfriend. What will I do or how do I tell him when I go out?
My best friend has asked me out in the past, and I think he might take it hard. He will want what's best for me, but he may mother me a bit and try to protect me. How should I respond to that?

Nursing mom's... what are some good places to get nursing bras online or otherwise?

Also what kind of "thin" disposable nursing pads are a good brand to get?

My 13-month old has been on solids for some time now and I just noticed that she swallows her food whole. I suppose this is contributing to the fact that she's hardly ever in the mood of eating. Is this normal? Is there an eating-101 course for little 'uns?

Okay, so I am 7 months pregnant..I was told my doctor that taking 800 mcg of folic acid a day can "cure" morning sickness....and let me tell you... I followed his tip religiously and have not had one ounce of morning sickness or any other type of symptoms. Who knows maybe I am just one of the lucky ones, but its worth a shot for all you other mommys to be out there for many reasons...folic acid is one of the most important vitamins you need in your pregnancy... so try it anyways! Good luck!

Why does using a condom make a man more respectable, when if every man who had sex used a condom, the human race would probably cease to exist?

I'm saying a girl lives at home with her mom, is still in middle school, has no job. What is the point of "trying" to have a child? This goes for adults to. Are people so greedy that they will let a child grow up in poverty just so they can be a mom? I don't get that. neither of my daughters were planned and their father and I were NOT trying for them. We had protected sex everytime yet I still got pregnant. Don't get me wrong I love my kids and I don't regret them. They are my world. Even though they weren't planned, we have made the best of everything and get them everything they need and most of what they want. What I'm getting at, is there any good reason for someone to try to concieve when they are broke. What about if they don't have a place to live? How about if they are trying to have a child with someone that is abusive? Aren't these stupid situations to bring a child into?

for one, my sister is 700 miles away from me, so no i cannot just get in my car and drive over there, and that is also why i didnt go with her. and two, thanks about the cervix not closing completely, since, yes, this is her second pregnancy. and three, is there really any reason for people to be so rude? especially when im simply curious and asking a question? sheeeesh. forgive me for asking a damn question.

Can rust be harmful to babies? The crib that I used for my oldest son has some rust on it. Can I still use it for my baby if I can't get all of the rust off? Also how would I get all of the rust off of the small pieces of metal?

I don't even know if it is available and haven't talked to my husband about it yet, but I was curious. My daughter is three and attends pre-k and her teacher reccomended that I take her to the kindergarten screening today. After her screening the school's nurse goes over the results with each parent, and she kept going on about how smart my daughter was, she placed on average six points above where the "average" child her age is expeccted to be at in the three catagories that they screen for in motor skills, concepts, and speech/language skills. She is also seventeen points ahead in her development skills. I was just wondering if this was your child would you consider putting her in kindergarten a year early if it were available?

for the person who said ask the doctor, do me a favor, dont comment anymore, and for those of you who said the doctor should be more specific, i agree, the thing is, she is still at the doctor's office. but she has turned her cell phone off, so we dont know whats going on, this is why im asking these questions. she hasnt experienced any bleeding or and other danger signs, this is the first shes heard of any complications. hence the reason for my concern and questions

the doctor told my sister, her cervix isnt growing properly. which can either mean, it has opened, when it shouldnt, or that it hasnt thickened. so my question is, is this an early sign of miscarriage?
