To those of you who want to know 'why give metal cutlery to children to play with?'
In nurseries you have pretend play, ie; plastic cutlery, plastic food, plastic tools. For older children you also give the option where possible the real thing but child size. Its all to do with imaginative play and trying to use 'real' tools to encourage interaction not just during imaginative play but socially as well.
The metal cutlery is to be all metal, about 4 inches in overall length. Ikea did a set but it is now discontinued due to a lack of sales, so I'm told.

Many Montessori supply stores carry metal cutlery. Here are a few that I purchase from often for my preschool classroom.

is he into any activities, hockey, baseball..something. if so than get him new equpiment. If there is snow the position you stay than get him a GT, or any type of slides, something he can use outdoors. Get him a distant administration snowmobile if there is snow there, to apply outdoors. Get a basketball information superhighway, pair of skates.locate out what hes into like characters and flow to the mall and be conscious what they have for 12 year old boys with that personality. If this doesnt help than ask him what he likes, or take him to the mall and enable him flow in the shops and in basic terms pay interest to issues he is going to and options up and get a well-known idea from there.

I bought my 19month old cutlery that have a rubber handle and metal ends, came with a fork and spoon. They are not a toy, she uses them to eat all her meals. I bought them at Kroger's and Babies-r-us, they may have been $4 for one set.

Most baby stores (Babies R Us, Buy Buy Baby and even Target) carry an aray of different fork & spoon sets for your children.
Most have characters like Dora, Sponge Bob and even Star Wars on them.
Also, you can try online at Amazon.com - I believe they recetnly started carrying "The Wiggles" set there.

I bought a set for my son from Boots. They have plastic handles and then steel knife/fork/spoon - he uses these to eat - but I'm a bit confused why you would want a metal set to play with...?

Have you tried Early Learning Centre, Woolworths or Argos? Or you could try one of the many toy catalogues that come with 'Mother & Baby' magazine
