if it is going to work what is the maximum time limit until i would go into labor? right now i have a cold and im burning up and throwing up. i really need some advice please.

I am a mother of a very willful and stubborn boy. But I use a technique to subdue him; I spank his butt and “miss” my hand a little further into his nuts. Every time I use this, he does what I told him to do. I only “miss” when needed, and it works!!! Don’t you think mothers should just start using this technique of mine? I mean as long as it works why not?
The problem is, he is now 9 years old, and I think he is starting to suspect I do it on purpose, at what age do you think I should stop using this technique?

This might sound crazy or ignorant even but is there any way to make your period shorter? Most of the time mine lasts 4 or 5 days. I haven't started yet this month but I'm due any day now. I HAVE to be done by Thursday. Is there anyway to shorten my period and make it only 3 or 4 days? We're going on vacation on Thursday and if I'm not done by then, we're not going and this is the last week we have free to go on a vacation so it's now or never. (Also, I know this kind of miscategorized, but I figured there are a LOT of women in this section who would know a thing or two about periods). Thanks and God bless.

My daughter is turning 1 next week (I can't believe it!). I am looking for a cake recipe that does not use eggs or milk. She has not had either of these yet and there will be other babies from her play group who have not had eggs/milk yet either.

Also, any suggestions/advice for a 1st birthday pary would be greatly appreciated.

she has never been a cuddly baby she has been put down awake since pretty much four month old she just does notlike to be cuddled in i know i should not moan she goes down so well but ido miss not having the cuddles like i did with my 4 year old she wouldnt go to bed until she was fast asleep in my arms and always loved to be held any ideas how i can get her to be a bit more affectionate

Last period 8/2. Husband & I TTC. Pregnancy symptoms: nausea, lightheadedness, tender swollen breasts w/ darkening areola, fatigue, frequent urination, and dull headache. Took 5 HPT in the last week w/ First Morning Urine and all were negative. Has this happened to anyone? Could I be pregnant even though the tests are negative? I don't want to go to the doctor just yet, just in case I am not pregnant (I would feel dumb).

Last night, my husband told me that he wants to go hunting upstate (we live on LI) 10 days before our 3rd baby is due. He took it to heart and got upset about it. I told him he gets to go out with his friends much more than I do- He doesn't need to leave the island 10 days before the baby is due. I also told him that I hope the baby comes on that day if he does leave. I said there is a reason that I won't leave the island- it is too close. I think he is still dissapointed and I don't know if I am being selfish or not. What do you think?

Seriously. If you feel like crap and you are cramping there is a 99.9% chance it's labor. Shouldn't the first stop be calling their doctor or, oh, I don't know a trip to the er?
I'm a mom, so don't rip on me that I don't understand, cuz I do.

I got drunk and had sex with one of my guy friends 3 weeks ago no condom was used. i took a blood test at my doctors and it came back positive but the EPT was negative wich is more accurate?I am really scared this is my first year of college. Am looking for stories about adoption. Positives and negatives. Hubby and I are having trouble conceiving and not sure whether to continue down the fertility treatment route or to try adoption. Does adoption feel like you have your own child or is it like looking after someone elses? How do you cope if the child has regular contact with birth parents/family? Any advice would be appreciated. My 5 year old daughter is sweet,beautiful,smart and makes me proud to be her mother. Ever since she was in pre-k she has had a hard time making friends. She is shy so it takes her a while to say would you like to play with me? She is now in kindergarten and she is still not real involved in playing with other kids. Where I live there are kids but they are mean to her thet tell her to go home take her purse away and look through it thats a big no no shes been told shes fat,ugly, been called a b*tch fat a** by kids older than her. A neighbor lady told her to het out of her yard and go play in the road but wait till a car comes she denies saying it to her though. I understand why shes afraid to make friends she is afraid of rejection and I tell her all the time that she is beautiful,smart, sweet and that I love her all the time. I would so much like to just pack up and move to get away from here. How do I help my daughter make friends easier and to stop the bullying?

When women get pregnant, do they easily get irritated by any little thing. Cos this is gurl is 6 weeks pregnant with my baby, and since 2 weeks ago she was told by the doctor that she i 4 weeks pregnant, everything i do irritates her. calling her constantly irritates her, before this time, she used to be the one that calls me constantly. Since then her behavior changes after she found out she is pregnant. What could this be?

As gross as it sounds a couple of nights ago and also a couple weeks ago I had diarrhea,leg cramps in the upper part and lower part,frequent urination,light yellow discharge,cramps in my lower abdomen,light back pain,and stabbing pressure down there,and also a weak feeling in my arms and a light headed feeling and head ache. I am 36 weeks. Could this mean labor is right around the corner,or does this happen way before labor gets here?

the first test i did was 2 weeks after my period was due and the rest i have done in different weeks after..i used the new digital clearblue tests and some store brands. after i did the 1st test i got my period a week later...butttt here i am now...nearly 2 months after, waiting for my next period...which is making me think that maybe the tests were wrong (ive heard that u can have periods while your pregnant) its really worrying me...my periods have always been regular....why isnt it coming again??!!!!

Went to have a look at the maternity unit in the nearest major hospital to us today (keep being told its safer to have my 1st baby in a hospital than in the local MLU).

I was horrified at how dirty the place was! The ante natal ward toilets were so dirty and smelly just walking in made me gag. It absolutely stank of sh1t, urine and vomit. There I have been in pub toilets that were cleaner!! The whole place was overcrowded, queues for toilets etc. The staff were brusque and most seemed to treat you like an annoyance.

The rooms were sparse and shabby. Even the "most comfy" room comprised of a bed, a dirty plastic chair and a toilet which was a cupboard.

I was really put off. In contrast the local MLU is lovely, clean, bright, small, homely. There are no anesthetists or consultants tho so if there's a problem or you need an epidural you have to be transferred to the major hosp.

I was so put off by this grotty hospital I can't face going there in labour! Any ideas?

My son is 12 months old and I still cant get him to sleep through the night.He's always been a fussy sleeper ever since he was born.He still wakes up about 4 to 5 times at night and all the energy I put into making him sleep again leaves me frustrated,tired,angry and furious in the morning.Since I am a working mom,it is interfering with my job as well.My son's bed time routine is the same as everyone's-have dinner,take a bath or a quick rub-down,drink milk and go to sleep by 9.30.If I am lucky he sleeps till 3 and then wakes up and starts either crying or babbling to himself.He used to share a bed with me and my husband before,but now i put him in his cot.But when he wakes up at night and wont go back to sleep,i put him in bed with me and that is the end of my sleep.He keeps tossing and turning.He wakes up next at 6.30 for his feed(breastfeed).Breakfast is at 9.30,afternoon nap is between 12 and 5.He is very active as well.Can anyone tell me how I can get my son to sleep through?

Did anyone have a reaction to an epidural? I'm afraid that I might have one because of the reactions I tend to have to certain medications - especially since for headaches I can't tolerate Advil or any ibuprofen and can just take Tylenol or aspirin (as long as there's food in my stomach) and have never really had to take anything much stronger. I know I have a few months to go before I have to worry about (I'm about 4 months along), but I still am anyways!

I just started fertility charting this cycle after my fiance and I had unprotected sex just once this month 4 days after my period ended. I have read up on the "6 day fertility window" and know that it is possible to get preg from sex 5 days before ovulating.
My question is: Has this actually happened to anyone else? A possibility is still only about 5%, right?
Most preg people I know were either trying hard or had an accident smack in mid-cycle. Our "oops" was pretty early in my cycle (cd8) so if I ovulated on the 13th day is it worth thinking twice about?
I would be excited to be preg, even though it might limit my bridal fashion options! Thanks.

I am looking for ways to spend more time with my three year old.
I would like to stay home with him but in todays market that is fianancial suicide. Is their any stay at home mothers out there who do jobs at home and still maintain your bills on a monthly basis.
And please dont refer to a site that refers to another site or I get some phone call from some money making multi billion dollar business playing 10 minute tapes asking for thousandsof dollars.
