Last period 8/2. Husband & I TTC. Pregnancy symptoms: nausea, lightheadedness, tender swollen breasts w/ darkening areola, fatigue, frequent urination, and dull headache. Took 5 HPT in the last week w/ First Morning Urine and all were negative. Has this happened to anyone? Could I be pregnant even though the tests are negative? I don't want to go to the doctor just yet, just in case I am not pregnant (I would feel dumb).

Too early to tell? What an idiot! You should deffinately see your doctor. And yes you can tell by now by the levels of HCG in your blood. Good luck!

No need to feel dumb if you are not pregnant. Are you sure your areolas are darkening? because most women do not experience that until later into the pregnancy like about 9-10 weeks pregnant. Other than that the rest of your symptoms sound like premenstrual symptoms, including nausea. Light headiness can be a dehydration symptom. Now a days the HPT's detect pregnancy 5 days before you even miss your period and if pregnant your hcg duplicates every other day. Some women have low amounts of hcg which cannot be detected until later about 4-5 weeks but they usually result in miscarriages. That is why it is important to go to the doctor. I seriously doubt it that you are pregnant, but this late into your period you might be ovulating again and that is why you have swollen breasts. It could be many things but a test won't lie. I suggest you to calm down and chill out, relax, it is hard but if you don't you are causing youself to have all kind of crazy symptoms and no baby. Just let God decide when it is your time.

Do you have any genetic disorders, such as albinoism, that affect your metabolism or how your body processes hormones? If you do, you may only be able to confirm a pregnancy via a blood test or even a vaginal ultrasound after the 7th week.
