there is no such thing as a meconium plug. Meconium is what the babies first bowel movements are called. If you think that is what is coming out you need to call your doc asap or go to the hospital this can cause serious infections. If it is the mucous plug this means that you are going to have your baby soon.
You can call you doctor also but it isnt as big of as a deal as the meconium.

My plug started falling out around that same time. It came out in pieces and even though everyone told me it was fine and not to worry I still worried. I called and described to my doctor what was happening and described what it looked like, and they confirmed that it was just my mucous plug and not to worry. Everything was fine with my pregnancy and I actually ended up going 2 days over my due date, so it's not even always a sign that labor is that near. If you are like I was and still nervous I would go ahead and call my doctor and just let them know what is going on and see what they say.
Oh and by the way meconium is if the baby poops while still in the womb.
Good luck and congratulations...I'm sure everything will be just fine. :)

Your question doesn't make a lot of sense.

Are you talking about losing your mucous plug? (Meconium is baby's first poop!) Some women lose their plugs all at once and some lose it a little bit at a time. If you lose your plug and don't go into labor within about 48 hours, it will regrow. It's also normal to have increased vaginal discharge in the last trimester.

It doesn't sound like anything is wrong, if I understand your question correctly. HOWEVER.....if you ever feel anything is wrong, NEVER hesitate to call your caregiver! That's why you pay him the big bucks! You are NOT "bothering" him to call and ask questions.....that's his job!

Meconium is the "poop"that the baby excretes while in your uterus. It should not mix with the amenotic fluid. Are you talking about your mucus plug?

I'm confused by your question, did your mucus plug fall out? That can happen a while before labor (talking weeks here not just days or hours). But if you're so concerned call your doctor. Thats what they are there for!

I think you mean your "mucous plug".
I lost mine of Christmas Eve. Got all excited, thinking it was going to happen. I didn't go into labor until 10 pm. January 6, and delivered in the a.m. of Jan. 7. It can happen now, or a few weeks from now. I wasn't put on any restrictions. As long as the amniotic sac hasn't ruptured, there is little to no risk of infection and the baby will be just fine.
And BTW~while they would like you NOT to give birth at 36 weeks, more than likely everything will be fine. My niece was born at 30 weeks and is now a happy, healthy, normal 4 year old!
