I am looking for ways to spend more time with my three year old.
I would like to stay home with him but in todays market that is fianancial suicide. Is their any stay at home mothers out there who do jobs at home and still maintain your bills on a monthly basis.
And please dont refer to a site that refers to another site or I get some phone call from some money making multi billion dollar business playing 10 minute tapes asking for thousandsof dollars.
something easy and something that works please

I was watching tv last night and saw something that I am very interested in trying. It's called "house flipping." That might be a good stay-at-home job, even though you wouldn't really be at home. You buy a house for cheap, fix it up, and resell it for profit. You could work on it and have your son with you while you're working. Try that...I've always wanted to :-)

Try medical transcription, you can do that from home. I have check in on it and it costs up $1000. But they give you all the books and training you need on line. There are alot more jobs that can be done at home, also if you have friends with kids see if you can watch them while they work, at least your home and making a bit extra money, that is what I do now. I also went to cosmetology school, and have my license so I can also do that when ever I want, make your own schedule most of the time. I also believe you can do medical billing from home to. Hope this helps a little bit. Oh can also look into like Avon or Mary Kay or tupper wear or candle light, or Airbon, I don't know how much they make but its an idea.

I'm a medical transcriptionist and I work at home. I don't know if you can invest about 10 months to classes a couple times a week, maybe while family or someone watched your son? It's a very good position, always in demand and you can always work at home but you need the training and the medical terminology and knowledge.

A friend of mine took an at-home course, though, for medical coding or billing and now works at home. I don't know how long her course was or how much it involves but, again, if you have the time to invest in learning it, it would be a great position to get into for an at-home mom. Good luck!!

Oops, sorry.. forgot to add that my classes were at a vocational school three hours a night, three times a week.. NOT full time classes.

You could check into medical transcription or insurance claim billing. My cousin does that. I don't know a lot of high paying jobs that can be done from home, believe me I have checked. I am a stay at home mom. I used to do a lot of sales on E-bay, but I couldn't make enough to pay the bills. You could start a I Sold It On Ebay store, that would be lucrative. I also have an embroidery sewing machine and a very small business bringing in extra money especially around Christmas.

F.I.E.R.C.E. is mad! Even if you could afford to buy a second house to do up (or move from hovel to hovel , doing them up on the way, It would be like taking your kid to a building site!!

So many 'at home' jobs are total cons, even internet survey responses dont pay real money most of the time.

I suggest you start your own business. I was speaking to a 'Virtual Assistant' today, she works from home, doing office work, sorting mailshots, doing on line typing, and 'phone sitting' by diverting calls from businesses that are staff strapped.

Also a friend of mine is a stay at home dad. He runs a model and wargames shop, buying wholesale and selling online (he started with an ebay shop). He also paints soldiers and sells them. He wont get rich, but it lets him contribute to the household income.

Good Luck

You know I am not sure exactly how much you have right now. Ebay is a great way of making money. You could try that. I mean if you don't have anything to sell you can go to yardsales or huge flea markets. I make money off ebay every month I ususually make about 200 dollars a month. But I do this on the side. So try for a bout 2 months while you remain at your job now. See how much money you make. See then you can sped lots of time with your child I am sure he won;t mind going to yardsales or flea markets. Remember ones junk is anothers treasure on Ebay. read about ebay first, make sure it is right for you.

I work for a company that allows people to come to our business and pick up packaging work and take it home to complete and bring it back at a later date. It's piece-work and they get paid weekly. We have a large amount of people that come in weekly to apply for us. Unsure of where you live, but maybe you could check your local directory for packaging companies that would allow you to work from your home.
Also, my husband's company has allowed him to stay home a few days a week so that our children don't have to be in daycare the whole week and it in turn costs us less! Relatives would be the ideal child watchers if you can swing that, but we dont have close relatives to watch our children. We also sell things on ebay monthly to add money to our pockets. Seems as though we always have things to sell and that people want to buy! Works much better than a rummage sale! Good Luck!

well if you know people you could sell avon. i do it is exciting and a way to meet people and make a money. how much you make depends on how much you sell. you can work form home because they give you a wbe site which you design and people can go on your site and order and you still get the profits. i like it i just can't put as much time in it as maybe you can cause i have a another job

you could try offering child care in your home- not a big group, just a couple of kids. The parents will be thrilled to have somewhere to send their child, your son will benefit from your company and that of other children, and you'll be ensuring that at least a few kids woun't get ground up in the daycare mill.
