I just started fertility charting this cycle after my fiance and I had unprotected sex just once this month 4 days after my period ended. I have read up on the "6 day fertility window" and know that it is possible to get preg from sex 5 days before ovulating.
My question is: Has this actually happened to anyone else? A possibility is still only about 5%, right?
Most preg people I know were either trying hard or had an accident smack in mid-cycle. Our "oops" was pretty early in my cycle (cd8) so if I ovulated on the 13th day is it worth thinking twice about?
I would be excited to be preg, even though it might limit my bridal fashion options! Thanks.

(Sorry if way TMI!!)
NB: I had Ovulation pains the 10th-13th day of my cycle and all signs point to Ov on day 13. My cervical fluid was sticky/creamy on the day of sex and then got increasingly creamier, etc.
I know it is "possible" as everyone has noted, but have any of you gotten preg/gotten anyone preg after only one oops early in the cycle?

Well, it would all depend on your menstrual cycle. They say you should have a period every 28 days, which would make your ovulation start on day 14. The window is 72 hours because sperm can live inside your body for that long. Everyone ovulates at different times. My cycle was so regular that I did not use birth control pills, I was able to use the rhythm method. I even knew which side I was ovulating on (your body releases an egg from the opposite side from the previous month). I would wait for about a week or two and get a pregnancy test that is able to detect the HGC hormone early. Good Luck

Really depends on what your cervical fluid was like on CD8. If it was dry or sticky sperm wouldn't make it to ovulation. If you already had clear strechy fluid it's possible that you could be PG.

You could very well be pregnant. Have you taken a test yet? You should. Or go to the doctors. Or wait till you miss a period.

Ovulation is not that exact a science. You can get pregnant even during your period in theory. You are so knocked up.

I've heard that sperm live for about 72hrs so I would say that you should be alright, however there is always an exception to the rule so pregnancy is a possibility

if you had sex, whether or not it was unprotected, you could be prego. take a test or go to the doc to find out for sure.

hmmm...i think of blond jokes are noticeably humorous, yet i do unlike that one. i do unlike intercourse jokes. there are a number of undesirable issues on the information superhighway already. it might be...no one except the test result can assure that now...or may be u should wait 60 days and see for urself.
